“Beautiful park, various activities: playground, walking/jogging/bike trail, large grassy area and some Civil War History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We have come to geocache, to ride bikes and to play on the playground. Parks in a safe neighborhood are hard to come by in Kansas City and while this is a public park and can attract all sorts, it feels safe here. It is in an excellent neighborhood. The park itself is well maintained, large and beautiful. The playground has multiple things to keep the younger set busy including a short rock wall and the usual swing sets and equipment. There is a large track to walk or ride bikes on that is very popular as well. The site also has a canon and plaque about a battle there during the Civil War, which is interesting to read about. If I had to pick just one park to visit in Kansas City I would pick this one for its close proximity to the Country Club Plaza, its variety of interesting things to see and do, its beauty and its feeling of safety.

“A Beautiful Respite from a Busy World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Just south of the Country Club Plaza, Loose Park beckons with its pond, expansive lawns and comfortable benches. It is a great place to enjoy a light lunch or coffee after a shopping foray into the Plaza shops. Take some time to walk the perimeter or find a spot near the water and relax.

“Not your best wedding venue”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

While the rose garden is lovely, even in a drought year, I wouldn't recommend this place for a wedding. They were taking down chairs from the previous wedding during the ceremony we attended and the karaoke from a nearby picnic kept us from hearing the couple say their vows. The parking is terrible !!!

“great for XC skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

I've never been here when it hasn't snowed, but I love it for cross country skiing! There's plenty of space to create an adequate trail. Lots of parking, and it's close to the pond, which seems to be the highlight of the park.

“A Lovely, Lovely Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

We took a large group of children who were attending a family reunion to this park over Thanksgiving weekend. Some of us went for a walk, others played on the play ground and some others had an impromptu soccer game. Beautiful setting which suits everyone. The park is adjacent to several wonderful residential areas that are so worth driving around in afterwards to see how the 1% lives in Kansas City -- be sure to go to the Kansas side on the other side of State Line Road because that's where the 1% of the 1% lives.
