Knowing that free tour tickets were only available the day of, and that the ticket booth opened at 10am, we arrived on a Friday at about 10:04am to find a line halfway down the block. We didn't mind the wait, but were a little surprised at the line. We got inside the doors, with about 10 people ahead of us when they announced they were completely out of tickets for the day. Luckily, we were in KC another day, and came back on Saturday at 9:15am. Even that early, we weren't the first in line, but after everyone got tickets, there were some left over, unclaimed. Once on the tour we decided the weekday times may be more popular because that is when the bottling line is in production (no bottling was going on for our tour, we just got to see the machinery, but no action).
Boulevard is just about our favorite beer, so we thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and the tasting of course. We were greeted at the beginning of our tour with a tasting of the KC Pilsner, and then given 3 bottle caps that could be traded in for free beer at the end of the tour. The brief tour consisted of 2 guides leading you from place to place, and at each stop you watched a video (it really isn't as bad as that sounds). The best part was being able to taste "test" beers that are not even available yet. Absolutely loved this, and would return on a week day to watch the bottling in process!
