Have just spent 2 wonderful weeks in Tasi and experienced great service at every stop, except here..........
Called in here on a Sunday night, 2 weeks ago at 6ish with my husband and 3 teenage kids. We walked into the lounge and there were only tables for 4 vacant. The bar tender gave us a bored glance and went about her business. I had to approach her at the bar and I asked her for a table for 5 and she told me to go to the public bar area. We walked in there, and whilst we didn't think it was overly suitable for 3 young teens to be in the public bar, we sat down. Still no attempt at service......I approached her again and asked her for a menu. She said "there are none left, just look at the board" (which had 3 meals on it listed as specials). She then continued chatting with I assume were the locals.
We drove 10 kms to Sorell and went to the Pembroke Hotel. What a difference!! They pushed a couple of tables together, meals were huge and delicious!! Staff were the usual Tassie friendly. So glad we didn't give our $200 to The Richmond Arms. The bored unhelpfull bar tender could sure do with a trip to the Pembroke Hotel to see how it's done!
