“Zoo - erific!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

We went as part of a group with children ranging in age from five to fifteen and everyone had a great time! We traveled round on the 'bus' , got mugged by camels and ostriches, fed all sorts of animals including lions, petted giant lizards, cuddled puppies, laughed at monkeys, ducked macaws and lots more! We booked ahead and negotiated a group price, took our own picnic lunch and enjoyed their excellent coffee. The sun was out - what more could you ask for a family day out in school holidays? Oh yes we all learnt something on the way round - did you know Tasmanian Devils can smell rotting meat over ten kilometres away?

“A good Zoo for little ones”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

My 5 year old grand daughter's favourite animal is Zebra's , she loved the fact she could actually touch one and also feed a lion ( through a cage with tongs) The safari bus was really good as they supply you with a cup of food to feed the emus and osteriches. The magpies in cages did make me wonder why they were caged .There is a free jumping castle and ball pen for the little ones, and fluffy rabbits to touch. The white wallabies are also there to pat. If you go when its winter etc, I would suggest Gum Boots as the place is very muddy

“Expectations exceeded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

We went to this with fairly low expectations and concern over the cost, but were quite pleasantly surprised, whilst it is not cheap the experience was worth it. There is no doubt there is more work to be done here and I am led to believe there is expansion coming. Plenty of animals to see and the safari bus is a great experience.

“Zoodoo day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

We all really enjoyed the feeding of the emus and osritches, patting the zebras and camels. The tassy devils, monkeys, birds, merecats lions etc were great too. The rest of the animals could be found on a farm or in the bush. We had a fun few hours, but they really need to review the price, as it cost $100 for two adults and two children aged 15 and 16, which is the most pricey thing we have done on our holiday.

“Great Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

I think this is a wonderful place for all ages.
We went there to kill our last day in Hobart before our flight home, and i am glad i did.
It was a bit muddy as it was a miserable day but that added to the fun of it. We first went on a safari bus to feed some of the animals, this was lots of fun and the kids on the bus enjoyed it a lot. feeding the Ostrich's were scary, but hilarious at the same time everyone was freaking out because they were literally up in your face. We also got to feed Zebras and Camels. After the bus ride we were free to roam the grounds with likes of koalas, kangaroo, albino wallabies, camel's, sheep, llamas, lions etc. I loved that it didn't have restrictions on the feeding of the 'farm animals' i loved being able to be so close to them. All i wanted to do was the Lion cub experience however it was booked out for the day we were there (so id recommend pre booking) i see people complaining about the price, i actually thought this was FAIR if you're in a pair it is $125 pp and there are 5 cubs to play with (i found this a once in a life time thing, when else would this be imaginable?) - the girls i watched with the cubs got at least 45 minutes in the enclosure and lots of photos (i dont know if these were purchased separately) compared to other close up encounters around OZ i found this decent. I had a fun day and would recommend it for any tourists looking for a half day activity (its about half hour drive out of Hobart)
