“A peace of heaven in the south of Peru”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

I was here for two days one night and had the best time of my life... drinking at the bar near the pier during the afternoon was absolutely relaxing.

This is the perfect place if you are looking for a getaway to find some peace of mind and a have a great time with your closest friends or with your couple

Room Tip: Take note that the beach is off limits since it is full with jellyfish

Our suite on the second floor looked out over the bay and the pool. The sunsets were wonderful and the grounds are quiet and peaceful, beautifully maintained. The rooms, linens, and special details were extraordinary. We must also congratulate the chef and the spa staff and restaurant staff, and the kayak and pool staff for their kind and attentive service 24 hours a day. We were quite tired upon arrival and I confess I was grouchy but soon the soothing and beautiful environment restored me and our three days here were sublime. We took the boat tour and my granddaughter went to the Pisco, Oasis and sand dunes tours and loved all of them. Special thanks to our Country Walkers tour guide, Alex, and driver, Augusto, for great care throughout as well. I must also mention that there was a severe earthquake on this coast in 2007, and though the hotel is meticulously restored the town of Ica and areas nearby were quite decimated and are in rough shape, so there is a strong contrast between luxury and the surrounding town...

Room Tip: though we were by the family pool is was still quiet and I was very happy with our open view to the...

This hotel has fantastic service and lovely grounds. You can take a short walk to town, no taxi needed too. The rooms are very nice with porcelain tile floors that look like wood, beautifully outfitted, and each has its own veranda with table, chairs, and candles for an afternoon of reading or a cocktail while looking out to the gardens. This does not feel like a hotel, but feels like you have your own condo, set in a garden. Take a stroll through the lovely grounds to a pavilion that contains the restaurant. Food and service are very good, you would think you were in a sophisticated city not a tiny seaport town. The hotel is located on the water and has its own launch to take you to some islands off the coast that are home to large seabird colonies. After sightseeing, wander from you room through gardens, past the infinity pool, to another large pavilion where you can watch the sun set from inside the beautifully furnished, living-room-like seating areas, or sit outside And enjoy the large fire pits, Peruvian music, and a Pisco sour, which is shaken and not blended so as to preserve the peacefull seaside setting of the cocktail pavilion. A truly lovely accommodation.

Room Tip: All rooms are good and seem to be oriented to provide privacy. Upstairs units may have large furnis...

Hotels are rarely this good.
Modern rooms with 2 sinks in a well designed bathroom.
Free in-room WiFi and comfortable beds.
Food here is excellent, too, as is service.

This beautiful place would be a SIX Star if I could add one.

Room Tip: My guess is that all rooms are excellent. Ours certainly was.

This hotel was our 2nd stop on our Peruvian adventure and we were so happy here. The amenities are just excellent with a nice relaxing atmosphere and complimented with a great staff. Our room was big and of coarse appointed with a nice comfortable bed with Egyptian cotton linens. The staff went out of their way to make sure your drink was perfect, your food was as you expected accompanied with a "yes we can" attitude and a warm smile, all the things you can expect from this hotel will be met with pleasure. We hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we did and we have no problem giving this place a 10 ++

This resort-style property is a gem. Some other comments on TripAdvisor are strangely blasé: this place oozes class, from its oversized super-comfortable rooms and bathrooms lined with attractive stone, its elegant cabana design, its wonderful landscaping with greenery and tropical flowering plants (remarkable given that it is situated in a desert), high-end restaurant, gorgeous large bar/lounge and magnificent swimming pools. And, bay-side setting, even with sandy beach. True, the latter's not for swimming (given the jelly fish).

As for the service, we found it outstanding: the staff were all pleasant, and helpful.

All told, this excellent property gives an image of what Peru can be.

There are comments about the occasional odour. We noticed it as well, but it did not bother us; it is a "seaside" smell. Frankly, the only "negative" we experienced are the scenes of grinding poverty along the road in the 3.5 hour drive from Lima, which we did find depressing.

Our stay was in May, off season, so the rates were agreeably affordable. We arranged transport there from Lima via Condor Travel, going by Cruz del Sur bus, and being met at the (basic) Paracas terminal and taken by car to the hotel. This worked very well.

There were children about during our weekend stay, but they were in no way the noisy problem some other comments have mentioned. It is somewhat amusing to see the pampered Lima elite (all lily-white) with their (darker skinned) maids looking after the children.

Tip: go for a walk into the village (for lunch), to the right of the complex, AND walk to the left along a pleasant and unexpected sidewalk bayside, giving views of surprisingly "open/visible" mansions.

Room Tip: There is no need for full "ocean view"; ours was "garden view" fairly close to t...

This hotel was selected by our private tour guide Mondo Verde Expeditions, and I do say that it was a beautiful experience. It was still in low season, so it was sparse with other guest. Good for us! One of the only things that it was missing was coffee and tea area in the room. We ate at both restaurants and had delicious meals, but the main dinning room was a little on the high side.
