My husband and I were in Sayulita for three days and stayed at Casitas Tortugas. We were very impressed by the beautiful rooms, which the owner Marcelo told us that he had designed himself. Our room was more like a suite -- it had a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room (with couch and TV) and small kitchenette. The decor was beautiful and the price was incredible -- at $65 a night, it was about half of most of the other places in Sayulita.
Casitas Tortugas is a couple blocks away from the main plaza, but it's far enough away that the noise from the plaza doesn't drift in. The back area of Casitas Tortugas is also lovely and has a fish pond with a variety of koi and other fish, as well as three turtles and a tortoise. There is a family of iguanas that live in the trees in the back area, and we caught sight of an iguana a couple of times while we were there. A couple of tables and chairs are set up near the fish and turtle pond which would be a nice place to sit for your morning coffee.
If we are ever in Sayulita again, we would definitely stay at Casitas Tortugas.
