“Slice of Alpine paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Yves and Michelle offer everything you could hope for in terms of a pleasant getaway experience in the Alps.

Their lovely home is located in a stunning part of the 'Hautes Alps' and provides an ideal refuge for anyone looking to get away from the daily grind.

The property is cozy and delightfully decorated in a traditional style which creates a genuinely relaxing ambience. The complimentary spa featuring jacuzzi and sauna is a wonderful addition to the mountain experience.

If you are willing to venture well off the beaten path to find the perfect locale - La Bousquetiere is for you.

Booked because of the good reviews and not disappointed! Yves and Michele were attentive and friendly and made us feel so welcome. Great breakfast in their lovely kitchen. The house is warm and cosy in mid-winter and we took the ground-floor apartment, ideal for two couples or mum and dad and two children. It has its own small kitchen and is well equipped if you want to do your own cooking. Main bedroom is huge and again well equipped, though a bedside table of some kind would have prevented us from balancing things on a chair. The shower water was only warm one morning but these are NOT complaints, just a reflection of how much we loved the place and how we want it to be perfect! The sauna and jacuzzi were a bonus and Yves prepared everything for us in advance. There is a supplement but it's small and in the end they reduced our room rate so we didn't pay any more than we had originally expected, even with the extras. The access is difficult (very narrow road) and, possibly, extremely so with snow on the road but this is the mountains, after all. Lovely day trips out and several ski centres are very close by. We loved this place and intend to go back in summer.

Room Tip: We didnt see the two other bedrooms but the ground floor apartment is spacious and very private..and...

It's hard to imagine a more beautiful area than les Hauts-Alpes or friendlier, more informative hosts than Yves and Michelle. This is a lovely, 250-year-old country home just outside tiny Jausiers. Michelle greeted us with hot chocolate and biscuits and friendly conversation (en francais). Then she showed us our spacious room with a lovely view. Next day, we had the first of four excellent breakfasts, and Yves, a former chef in the area, answered our many questions about things to see and places to eat in the area. Michelle did our laundry and told us more about her and Yves' background and work. Yes, the roads to Jausiers are a bit scarey. But the scenery and hikes makes this area a must-see.

This was the nicest room we stayed in during our trip to France. Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and forest walks. Tasty breakfasts and very friendly hosts even though they did not speak a lot of English and our French is terrible! Keep in mind this B&B is in an alpine area, and the roads from Nice were challenging.

We were really pleased with our decision to stay here two nights in June. The host are absolutely kind and welcoming. The breakfast is a feast from the countryside with home made jams. The house it is very good condition and the rooms are extremely large and well decorated.
Jausiers is in the middle of country side. Ideal place if you want to be away from the crowded cities and want to rest in nature. Even better if you have some plans to go for hikes around the area. When we return to this part of France we would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely stay we have had. Such friendly hosts, always interested to help us make the most of our stay, giving us ideas for walks, meals etc. Many nice discussions. Such a calm location with the mountains all around. Our room was huge and scrupulously clean (photos from other posts) and we have been able to relax so much and sleep well on the comfortable bed. Michele has filled the house with interesting antique objects giving it a homely, cosy atmosphere. The lovely underground jacuzzi with mood lighting and sauna were perfect after each long day of mountain walks. Thank you!

We loved our stay in this beautifully restored house. Once we found it.... we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, who seemed to enjoy this role and produced possibly the best meal we had in France. Strongly recommended.
