“A good base for visiting Avignon.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

The main reason that I've choose this hotel is that it is for me a good base for visiting Avignon, Arles and Nîmes. As soon as I checked-in, I found that this hotel is just fine and is situated on a very quiet place, about 10 to 15 minutes driving to Avignon which was very good after a hard day visiting and walking to places. The owner is also very sympathetic and provide us with all informations we requested.

Definitely I recommend this hotel and I would return to Le Mas des Amandiers.

The hotel is located outside a little village, ten minutes from Avignon. If you want a quiet stay, this is the place. It has a good swimming pool; the garden is nice, with almond trees and flowers. The very familiar restaurant is super, particularly if you are fond of trying local specialties. The people is welcoming and the rooms clean and well decorated.

Room Tip: Choose a room by the swimming pool

Stayed here overnight en route to Italy. Easy to locate, well-signposted. Adequate parking on gravel area which was well away from the accommodation, so no noise or other disturbance. Friendly, helpful check-in, English spoken. Rooms dotted around the pool, a bit reminiscent of a holiday camp chalet arrangement. Our room was in need of decoration but was otherwise functional. Generally clean and serviceable, although the main light didn't work at first (but it came on by itself at 2am!!) and the wi-fi didn't work. We reported the wi-fi problem, that seemed, according to our computer, to be due to an expired license, but this was not resolved.

Breakfast was acceptable, although the boiled egg I tried had the safe, but unappetizing, green ring which I have never come across in any hotel before. Guests are offered breakfast al fresco, which takes place at nicely laid out tables just outside the bedroom door near the poolside.

The bathroom got extremely warm despite an extractor, but was otherwise OK. The bedroom had air conditioning which worked fine.

Overall impression was that this was OK for an overnight stop but a little attention to small details wouldn't be a bad thing. We didn't have time to explore many of the facilities depicted on the Logis de France website for this accommodation, but in fairness the hotel's own website accurately illustrates the initial impression of the room type we were given, whereas the Logis De France website shows selected images of what appear to be much nicer bedrooms.

If you are travelling in the area, the hotel owners can give you helpful friendly advice on places of interest to visit. If you are planning to visit Pont du Gard, you should plan to make a day of it because the parking charges are outrageous (EUROS 18,-) and we found it impossible to locate the bridge by any other route to just take a few photos and leave.

Room Tip: View the Logis brochure website and ask to see a selection of rooms available, although it's rea...

We stayed there one night. Staff is available and atmosphere is very relaxing. Air conditioning was working properly and the room was clean, although not very big.
We got breakfast around the swimming pool and it was a good start for our day!
