“Cute Historic Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2010

My mother and I stayed two nights, we wanted to stay more.
This is a great place for families. There is a lot interesting history behind it. One of my favorite places there is Lover's Leap, it is absolutely beautiful, and a great place for taking pictures, and of course the legend of Lover's Leap makes it a little bit more interesting. There are a lot of cute shops. The Rockcliffe Mansion is a must see, the staff is very nice, the tour was very cool at a great price. We went on the Trolley that helped us find out where everything is, and what we wanted to speand the day doing. Of course we decided to climb up to see the Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse, which was a very long walk up 244 steps but the view at the end was worth it, as well as seeing the Lighthouse, it was also great exercise. We ate at Logues Resturant both nights because the food and service was so good, and also the prices were very affordable. There are a lot of shops on Main Street, some were closed when we were there, because it was Memorial Day. The Molly Brown birthplace and museum was also closed, but it looked very cute on the outside. We didn't get the chance to go to the Mark Twain Cave or the Cameron Cave, the Marktwain Riverboat, along with Sawyers Creek, all of these are on our list for next time. This town is a great get away. We will be coming back!

“Visiting with Mark Twain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2009

Hannibal is pure history and fun combined. What a colorful town!! It was interesting without being boring. Millions of sights and places to visit. There is no way you can see it all in one trip. It is certainly worth a second or third trip to this amazing town.

“Worst possible choice”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2008

We spent one night in this hotel while visiting in Hannibal during the first week in June. Big mistake. If we had not been so tired from traveling we would have moved to another motel. We had 3 rooms reserved and when we arrived, we walked into the lobby to check in. The smell almost gagged us. However, we noticed an open restroom door just inside the small lobby and thought it was a fluke and someone must have had a sick stomach and just came from the bathroom.
Further stomach turning when we got to our rooms. Just outside our door was a trashcan that had over flowed and beer cartons and dirty baby diapers were on the ground. Smelled bad. Still the room was fairly clean and after checking the bed, we decided to stay for the one night since the location was good to see Molly Brown's home and Mark Twain interests.
Next morning went for coffee at the continental breakfast in the lobby. Still smelled so bad we would not eat or even drink coffee. Tables needed wiping off also. Clerk not very friendly either.
