“"Nice hotel"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2014

We chose this hotel because of the reviews, we were not disappointed. Although we arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon, the room was not quite ready but we had a very short wait in their common area with coffee and cookies available. We asked for a quiet room and the desk clerk was happy to accommodate us. The bed was a little hard for our tastes but was still comfortable. The free breakfast was what you would expect (waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits etc.) and they were good. It was easily within walking distance of the historic downtown area.

Room Tip: Ask for what you need. River views will be noisier because of the trains. We wanted quiet and they...

Granted this is a great location if you wish to walk to downtown Hannibal. However, not only do they have a sign about the TRAIN noise if you have a river front view (and are willing to provide free ear plugs), you are also right on the BUSY Highway 79, with semis and pickup trucks ALL night long. Good luck trying to achieve a good night's sleep. Also the parking is woefully inadequate and entrances/exits are dangerous due to the curve on the highway. The rooms are fine (little on the tight side) and the breakfast was pretty standard. IF you decide to stay at this hotel, make sure to ask for a room on the first or second floor AWAY from the river side/street side.

Again, the fact that they offer complementary ear plugs should tell you something.....

Room Tip: Do not choose a river view......ask for the back of the hotel, lower floors...although you may have...

I believe this was one of the best places we have ever stayed at that allowed us the OPTION of walking around the town. I couldn't believe everything (Mark Twain museum, Riverboat, etc.) was within a 5-10 minute walk around just from this hotel. The Hannibal Visitors Bureau is across the street, so we went to the Visitors Bureau before we toured the museums and we received a buy 1/get 1 free deal. We stayed in room 220 (a RIVER FRONT VIEW) on August 22 and 23rd and we had a blast. The pool, and the hot tub were very nice. All the museums are a MUST SEE!!! The hotel and staff were extremely helpful and very courteous.

We were in town in Hannibal to attend the Mississippi River Race 10K. This hotel was perfect for us. We never even had to use our car. We were able to walk to the race. The room was clean and comfortable. It had all the amenities that we get in other hotels. We had to grab an early breakfast and put it in our refrigerator because of our early race, but we were able to come back after the race and enjoy the delicious breakfast in our room. If we are ever in Hannibal again, we will stay at this hotel. It was perfect.

Room Tip: Our room was located away from the river, and away from the inside pool. The noise level wasn't...

Excellent hotel for visiting Hannibal as walking to town is but 2 minutes away and 1 minute to Mark Twains Boyhood home area. Many restaurants in town to choose from. Would not have wanted to stay anywhere else for the convenience. The pool is indoors in the center of the hotel with most rooms around it. The noise can get a bit loud but pool does close about 9PM. We asked for a quiet room had a corner room away from the pool and it was perfect- quiet all the time. Good breakfast but was a little tight for seating space. Hotel on an incline so parking a bit tight. Very pleased with our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from pool if you don't plan to use the pool and want a quieter area.

This hotel was a great place to stay. It was first class from our hotel room right down to the indoor pool inside just below our room. The View of the Mississippi River could be seen from our window as the Mark Twain River Boat came into dock. This was a very inspirational place for anyone who wishes to visit the boyhood home of Mark Twain that was Just a few blocks away. You could walk most anywhere to see the sights and experience some good Hannibal Hospitality. The Staff was friendly and helpful with any questions or concerns one might have during their stay.

Room Tip: Rooms that will face the Mississippi River

This hotel is wonderful! I called them at 9:00 on a Saturday morning needing to switch hotels and they were very friendly and accommodating! They got me a room with no troubles at all and told me that I could go ahead and come check in but would have to obviously wait for the room to be clean which was absolutely fine with me! When we arrived they were super nice and it was a great experience! The rooms are nice with very comfortable beds! The atrium and pool area were slightly loud but that wasn't an issue for me. I will be choosing this hotel every time I visit Hannibal! The location is so ideal because it is right downtown and in walking distance of everything you would need (except walmart lol) Almost everything my boyfriend and I did that weekend we were able to walk!!
