I read mostly coffee reviews for this place, but decided to give their food menu a try, since I would be stopping at Hannibal around the lunch hour. Bonus, I got parking right in front of the place, which was great because it was raining. I opted for their soup of the day, a kale, sausage & potato soup, with a side salad. On the salad I was asked if it was ok they offered spinach & romaine lettuce because their order for spring mix had not come in for the day. I appreciated her letting me know and I was fine with the changes. I also ordered a Latte, because it is a coffee place and people were raving about the coffee. I ordered _The Emily_ which is a vanilla & almond flavor. All in all, my entire meal + coffee was under $10. I loved the soup, I was sort of sorry that I did not order a bowl instead of a cup. I appreciated that all the ingredients in my salad were fresh, it wasn't fancy but better than some places where the side salad is iceburg & whatever else they decide to throw in on top of it. Coffee was good, I think the combo of vanilla & almonds were a bit sweeter than I was expecting. However, on a rainy day, it was nice to sit down & relax a bit before I got on the road again. I did like the character of the place a lot. It is one of the older buildings, with exposed brick, & wood floors. An eclectic set of furniture, from comfy looking couches to tables & chairs I have seen at ice cream places. I noticed they had games and books for kids up at the front of the store. This is a place that invites you to stay awhile and I was wishing that I could stay a little bit longer.
