“Where is the Immodium AD?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

We went on Sunday, had morgan deals coupons for the buffet... The chicken was well aged perhaps even reheated. the rice was good, the complimentary mint tea was good. the egg plant was poor. the couscous fair. The tilapia was good . the waitress was 2 days on the job. Note the Halal beef and chicken on the menu... 3 hours later.. and 4 trips to the restroom later.. I vow not to go again.

“Couscouss Gyro Kebab, Gladstone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

driving in a cold weather, and find out a Mediterranean restaurant in the north land serving hot and warm buffet, and we had a Moroccan complimentary tea with mint flavor, and it was the best tea I have ever had. The couscous was delicious and tasty with a variety of fresh vegetables, such as turn ups, carrots, zucchini, and topped up with chick peas, and delicious coat of dressing. I had the lentil soup and it was very tasty and delicious. My girl friend ordered a gyro platter, and they make it in front of us when they cut the meat from the vertical broiler in front of us, and we had the bread warm and it was the best gyro sandwich platter I have ever had full plate of salad, rice, and hummus, yummy. It was my first time visit, and will always go there for a warm Moroccan hot mint tea, gyro, and delicious buffet.

“Only open three days - bit rough but has potential”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Saw a sign by the road for a new mediterranean buffet. It has opened at the back of a large strip mall and a bit hard to find. We asked and they said they had been open since Sunday. So we took a chance.

It is a very small place, but they have managed to cram enough tables in for about 25 or so people. The buffet is set up along one wall and the kitchen is a small room at the back. There were several men working the kitchen and one server up front (and she had her hands full). It was good to see them as busy as they were, with many people coming in as we ate, just to see what the place was.

The food was tasty, although a bit of a mish-mash. Some of the traditional items, such as couscous, hummus and eggplant. But then there were baked potatoes wrapped in foil. My guess is they were trying to satisfy a variety of tastes, but the American food was not necessary. Everything was warm and tasty (even saw one employee checking the food temperature of each dish with an electronic thermometer). They ran out of kebob meat, and a second batch of rice was not spot on.

So why am I for them? Because they have a great deal of potential. They are smart enough to offer choices, like both Pepsi and Coke. The service is earnest and friendly, even if they still need more help. Are they a diamond if the rough? Maybe, but it will take some work and some luck. It is nice to have this new restaurant in the Northland instead of cheap American-Mexican redos and chain stores in every mall.

I will go back at least two or three times to see if the buffet food receives polish, and if the service is less strained. They are obviously trying hard. If that work pays off, and as I said before a little luck is thrown in, it will likely to turn out to be a great place.
