When you come to the Kansas City area on a BBQ pilgrimage, this place needs to be on your list. Is a neat little place in the old town RR depot, just down the street from the famous Elms Hotel. Outside seating on a patio, with live music on weekends. Their sauce is great, and is sold both at the restaurant and in area groceries. For appetizers, we've had both the fried mushrooms and (our favorite) the corn nuggets. For entrees, can't go wrong with much of anything--we've had the burnt ends, ribs, smoked turkey, pulled pork, and fried catfish. All are excellent. I think the burnt ends and their ribs especially are as good as any you can get in KC. For sides, their baked beans are outstanding, and the sweet potato fries are really good, too. Service has always been good for us, we tend to go at oddball hours to avoid the crowds at standard lunch and dinner times. They're not big, but they've been around a long time and they are really good at what they do. Don't have the national reputation of Oklahoma Joe's, Gates', Bryant's, Smokin' Guns, etc. but they're in the same league.
