5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

I came down with my parents and girlfriend and haven't stayed here since i was a kid. wow the place was very impressive. The entire hotel was beautiful it reminded me of an old timey castle everyone on here says it needs remodeld i highly disagree i love the interior and if they ever change the castle feel i will cry.I also highly enjoyed the hotel's very nice workout facility. All in all i had an amazing time and will stay here every time i come to the St. Louis area.

Room Tip: definitely have a room by in the pool area so that you have easy access to the pool, game room, work...

I have lived in St. Louis but never had occasion to come to this hotel. I was PLEASANTLY surprised by how incredibly NICE and FRIENDLY the ENTIRE staff was. It was a great experience from beginning to end. We stayed there for New Years Eve. The staff was extremely accommodating. The bed was very comfortable, room clean, public areas very nice. I wasn't expecting it to be a four star hotel but they sure gave us four star service.
I am also a priority club member and they do a LOT of extra nice things to make you feel special. Such as special welcome basket/snacks/toiletries in the room.
Yes it's an older hotel, but it was clean, and the staff is truly outstanding.
Hat's off to Holiday Inn!!!

Room Tip: Call the hotel directly to book. They will do everything they can to accommodate your request. You d...

When you walk into the hotel you feel like you are in a classy place. We had a room where you have two doors one that leads to our car and the second door leads to the hotel. The pool is really warm and closes at 10pm. The resturant they have is very good.

Thank you for your feedback on our hotel. We are pleased you commented on the hotel decor. Our hotel offers a little history because the center of the complex was constructed by Irish stone masons, and has handcrafted limestone walls, detailed woodwork and decorative brickwork.
We are pleased you enjoyed the Haymarket Restaurant and pool in our Fun Dome. We hope you will visit again!

I am a Priority club member and I was very disappointed in this hotel. The outside was outdated, there were stains on the sheets and this stay did not come with free breakfast. We called down to the front desk about athe stains and someone promptly came up and changed the sheets but they shouldn't have been there in the first place. The room had a smell but was afraid to change rooms as the next one could be worse. The hotel was way overpriced for what you got. The only time I have paid that much for a hotel room was when it was all-inclusive. A couple of reasons I stay at Holiday Inns are because they are well kept and they have a nice breakfast so you don't have to run all over to find a restaurant. At this one we found a Denny's and a Steak-n-Shake to eat at. The only reason they get away with that kind of price is they are at the entrance to Six Flags and have a shuttle that drops you off and picks you up, otherwise they would be out of business. I will not stay there again.

My son thought it was a castle but it's design. We stayed here a few days and enjoyed it. Loved how the room we had - had an outside entrance that we could park right at the door and also an inside entrance to the hallway and elevators. The indoor pool was warm. We ate at the restaurant for an evening meal and a breakfast meal prices were comparable to most places like Ruby Tueday's or O' Charley's

Pros: Free Shuttle to Six Flags
Discount tickets to Six Flags

Cons: Pool area has a terrace bar and there is open drinking in the pool area/hot tub. Not cool for families with children.
Website did not say that Breakfast Buffet coincided with Six Flags schedule. They closed the Breakfast Buffet on a Monday. We ate there Tuesday morning and the place was swamped, they were turning people away. The staff was slim but did a great job with what they had to work with. Suggested to the manager they should evaluate each day whether to have buffet or not according to how many guests in hotel. They had thought that since St. Louis School district was back in , they won't be busy. Reminded them that other people travel that are not from the area.

I do not want to leave any doubt. We would stay again without a second thought. These are just a few minor things that we observed, that we worked around.

Room Tip: 3 floor rooms have inside/outside entrance. Parking at your door.

Stayed here for the sole reason that its literally across the (massive) parking lot from Six Flag. The room rate wasn't all that bad. I was well under $200 for a saturday night in the summertime peak season for 6 flags. The holidome makes the place. Kids go nuts for it. Large swimming pool nicely heated, hot tub, kiddie pool, large video game area with air hockey. I even think they had pool tables. The property itself is old, but the rooms have been updated. We didn't technically visit the restaurant but we got a pizza from the poolside snack bar. They kicked the kids out of the pool right at 11pm so things quieted down after that. There were a couple kids making a ruckus around midnight but it only lasted for a few minutes. We had a room on the ground floor facing the holidome which was convenient. The water in the shower was hot, the tv was a flat screen with plenty of channels. The bed and pillows were soft, the a/c was strong and not too loud. My only complaint is the place was dark, the halls were dark and the room was dark. There's this trend in hotels to use low watt fluorescent light bulbs to save $ and they might be saving money but its not a very inviting effect for the customer. That said, I'd probably go back again the next time we take the kids to 6 flags. You can't beat the location and the dang dome. Its all about the dome.

Room Tip: I did not regret asking for a room facing the pool.

Over priced, old, out dated, not very clean. Our room was filthy when we checked in. Everything about the room was old & out dated.
Convenient for 6 flags but that's about it. We were so disappointed!
