“Best in class for mid-level buiness hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

I had heard about the newly updated Marriott Courtyards, but hadn't stayed in one. They did a great job in this case. The lobby was spacious and open, with seating options from bar stools to snug booths, all with either TVs or outlets for those people - the majority - working on their laptops. There was also a bank of computers with Internet at no charge for people who wanted to check email quickly. Instead of working in our rooms in the evening, travelers were able to sit out, have dinner or a glass of wine and relax more comfortably. It isn't luxurious, but they have managed to create a very nice vibe in contrast to other moderately priced business hotels that are often pretty grim.

We stayed for the weekend in early October. The lobby is newly renovated and the bar/restaurant are quite nice. The only reservation with the food is that it is fairly expensive for what you get versus running to St Louis Bread Company down the street. The staff was very pleasant and check-in was completely uneventful. The only minor complaints would be: 1) a used soap bar was left in the shower; and 2) some odd white powder was left on the floor in the closet (presumably foot deodorizer or something similar). While the soap was easy to remedy, it was surprising that a relatively large spill of the white powder was not cleaned up during a routine cleaning while we were there. Overall, this was a nice stay for a reasonable price.

This Courtyard is quite sizable overall. I had a far corder room (335) and it was a decent walk to the front door but nothing terrible. There is a great (more often standard) bar and grill in the front lobby as well as private tvs and a few big flatscreens that can be changed to whatever. The staff was very pleasant all around and I enjoyed staying there for my business trip.

I saw a 'terrible' review below but that person must of have some real personal bad luck as this place is a good value for it's price. Also, all of the rooms have balconies which is great.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an outside view so you don't face the inner courtyard which could be loud if...

me and my family stay 2 nights and it was an ok stay. there were 5 of us and we had two beds and a fold out couch. was a nice quiet relaxing place. beds were in a separate room. we had access to the courtyard from our room we were on the ground level. room service never bothered you unless you called for them. had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, ironing board and iron. TV in the living room and bedroom. phone in both rooms. the only complaints we had. that we experienced on our stay was the staff we polite but clueless on stuff in their own hotels. did not know half the numbers on their restaurant list to order delivery did not work, the restaurant menu in hotel was not very well set up and when you asked them about it they were clueless on the food and price. the pool was to small. only had one ice machine on our floor and it was on the other side of the building. we told them when we reserved it ahead of time there would be 5 of us and they had only enough towels and wash rags for 3 people. shower was small and in a very small area for claustrophobic people like me it was hard using the bathroom. i have stayed in worse hotels.

My wife and I stayed here and found it to be a very nice hotel. We enjoyed the room, which was a suite with a separate bedroom. The layout of the hotel is very servicable. The staff is Great!!

The GPS had a hard time finding it, but its in the shadow of the Microsoft Building, right on Ballas Road.

Room Tip: didn't try room service or the spa, but didn't see NA as an option

Ok so when you think courtyard you think run of the mill everyday bargain room with what you need to get by, nothing special right? Well let me tell you the staff here will change your mind I know they changed mine. We arrived late tired and weary from traveling and the staff was warm and welcoming, made sure we had everything we needed for the night, didn't make you seem like you were putting them out it was an excellent experience. The rooms and accommodations are nothing special they have a bed and a flat panel tv oh and easy to use internet. The lobby is actually quite modern and the food was actually pretty good, we had a healthy breakfast with plenty of options to fit all the needs of our family. Oh I forgot to mention we have like ten rooms it was a family reunion so they were very accommodating for our group too. Well while I was comfortable enough here there are better places to stay, but I tell you what when I go back I'll be staying here, just because of the staff, great job folks.

Room Tip: Didn't really experience an issue in any room and we were pretty spread out in the room you don...

Beware the disabled ramp outside the Bistro. It looks like it is flat but it is a curb with a small decline. It is hard to see mid day with the sun on the ramo as bith the ramp and the curb are white. There is a tree which casts. Shadow over the curb further distorting the perception of the curb. I fell Saterday and hurt both knees and ankles. I asked them to clearly mark thi. Sarah the manager deferred to the claims dept. Scott in claims said I was the first to fall and that they would not see a trend till at least 3 people fall. So I tell you beware it is a curb small decrease but a very bad fall. I will post again if they fix it.

Room Tip: In this property watch out for curb. If you are injured you must ask repeatedly if you need simple f...
