1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2010

We stayed at this hotel on our move to KS. It was important to get some rest. Ha! Our room was dirty and smelled like mildew. Bathroom was nasty!! Then the wanna be biker gang started partying 2 doors down from us. After several calls to the front desk they came up and asked them to be quiet. It lasted 5 minutes. Finally after personally going down to the front desk at 4 am they asked these drunk/drugged people to leave. They then went to the parking lot started up their harleys and raced up and down till 6am. The police were never called and needless to say we had no rest. Keep driving or there was a Hampton that looked nice.

Made overnight trip to Missouri using phone reservation. When received statement, I was also charged for a night 9 days later with different charge (minus discount) Took 2 days of phone calls to reach manager "Rocky Patel", I had to ask twice to get his name and then had to call main Best Western office to get reply. I could not get explanation of how this occured, but my account was credited. This place was under renovations, we had a renovated room with very poor workmanship, primarily cosmetic over existing damage. Location at intersection of 2 main interstates was a traffic nightmare taking forever to get out of parking lot and across interstate to Cracker Barrel. (20 min)

Manager was unavailable during our stay. Sheets were stained. We were given different sheets, but had to change them ourselves. Vent in the bathroom wall was thick with dust, cobwebs and dirt. Carpets were dirty throughout facility. We did have a new refrig and microwave in our room, but then there were multiple items plugged into a power strip which was laying loose on the floor. New roof was being installed during our stay. We had several leaks in our room during a rainstorm. Air conditioning unit was old and smelled musty. I can tolerated "dated," but not filth. After we returned home, we were offered a ten percent discount for our "inconvenience." Insulting.

We stayed here graduation weekend and were very lucky to find a room. Kudos to the hotel for not jacking up the rates when other hotels were filled up. The rooms are very basic, however our toilet overflowed the next morning and we switched rooms upon request to find an extremely noisy air conditioner.

I was fine with all of this until I realized I left my mp3 player at the hotel. I called to ask if they found it and they said no automatically. No offer to look for it, no pause on the phone while they checked. I really miss my mp3 player.

Hotel was older, room was spacious but all the furnishings were older, bed was ok. Internet worked fine. Free breakfast was good with waffles and sausage. Staff was very friendly. Allowed dogs for $10 extra per night and there was a great grassy area with a sidewalk to walk him at. Overall: Could use some updating, but was adequate.
