“A Romantic Evening at Churchill's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at Churchill's. The atmosphere was a perfect combination of upscale and informal. Service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Perfect evening.

“Restaurant on the Rise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2012

Our experience with Churchill's on Valentine's Day was excellent. We were seated about 15 minutes past our reservation time, and the staff was kind enough to offer both free drinks and a complementary appetizer. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very rustic and romantic. This is a nice place to take a date for an intimate dinner, and the food is delicious. As the previous reviewer mentions, there is a new chef, and he prepares some excellent dishes. This was our first experience at Churchill's, and it will certainly not be our last. Though this place is not "cheap" by a long shot, it won't cost an arm and a leg. The food and service is well worth the cost. I would estimate approximately $40-$50 per person for drinks, apps, meal, and dessert.

“New Chef, Great Change, Worth a trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

This place used to be one of the top 'special occasion" places in Columbia. It is located in Holiday Inn and as with most of the "hotel" restaurants lacked real quality. I never liked it much as the "french" food was overrated and overpriced. Typical, tired, and not original. The place re-opened under the new chef and we went for visit. The interior has not changed and is the same "red velvet brass rails, dark romantic" look. Not my favorite. However, the food was outstanding. There were four of us and we ordered Veal, Fish, Pasta, and Steak. All were first rate, genuine Italian fare. The Chef came out for a chat and was indeed a real Italian (as in from Italy). The service was friendly, but a little tentative and not yet polished. Give that it was the FIRST day after grand opening, they actually did pretty well. This is a "all evening" restaurant. Plan on 2 to 3 hours of relaxation. Do not go there if you are in a hurry as each dish is prepared and delivered in order, as it would be in a real Italian place. If you are looking for a superb, romantic dining experience in Columbia, this is now one of the top choices.

“Way to overly priced...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

We thought the food was way over priced and there was not very many options so that was really disappointing and the decor of the restaurant could really use some updating. This restaurant must not be popular because on a Friday night we had the whole place to ourselves!

My husband loved his steak and my seafood pasta was good but tasted grainy like there was still sand in the scallops.

I don't think we will be eating here again.

“Good, but not nearly the best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

This used to be the white tablecloth place to eat. But unless you are stuck at the Exec Center, get out and have some great food downtown or at Chris McD's or Murry's, or even Sophia's, for less $.
