“LOVE THIS PLACE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

This is the ONLY place we stay, right outside Roaring River State Park. We have been staying here frequently for many many years. I make my reservations early in the spring for all summer, since they are such a convenient and clean, friendly resort.......they get booked up early! The resort owners and staff couldn't be any nicer, and aim to please in every way. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting beautiful Roaring River State Park and surrounding areas.

Room Tip: we like to be on the front side, but the back side has beautiful views of the woods. Picnic tables...

We have been staying at this resort for over 20 years...recently the ownership changed hands and not for the better. This past stay was marked by terrible customer service and accusations of leaving the two of the six rooms we rented in atrocious conditions, which was most definitley not the case. We cleaned up after ourselves, washed any dishes we used, and placed all trash in the trash receptacles. We were accused of leaving some corn husks OUTSIDE, God forbid, and some pistachio shells on the floor in one of the rooms. We tipped the housekeepers, and were under the impression that their duties were to sweep and clean up. We by no means left the rooms in atrocious conditions. Needless to say, after 20 years,we will no longer be staying at the Roaring River Resort! These people obviously have no idea how to run a motel!

I spent a week here earlier this year. It was probably the 5th or 6th time I've stayed at the Roaring River Resort. The new owners are VERY nice and accommodating. Some of the pros of the place are that it is very close to the Roaring River. Just a two or three minute drive from the river itself. It's nestled in some quiet, peaceful woods, and it's very beautiful in the fall. The price is very reasonable for these rooms, and they're very clean. Also, they have added some more comfortable leather chairs in the rooms, which is nice.
There are just a couple things that keeps me from giving this place 5 stars: (1) the beds aren't very comfortable, although they are just as good as those in the cabins at The Roaring River, and (2) if you have a downstairs room, the noise from upstairs can be loud at times.

Room Tip: If you can get an upstairs rooms, I would recommend that.

Even in the gray, bland end of winter, this place is beautiful. My son and I had the newly added smaller cabin for the better part of a week. While I worked in Cassville, he fished the trout park at the bottom of the mountain. I could see the place would be beautiful in a few weeks, when the serviceberry and dogwood begin blooming. The motel, cabins and even the campground are nestled in the trees so nicely. The cabin itself was terrific, and the larger cabins looked great for a group of guys on a fishing trip or the family on a getaway. The campground made me want to buy my own site! What a great setup. Laundry, pool, game room and the top of a mountain! Lon and Syndi keep the place clean and take care of your every need...friendly and kind folks! I'd recommend this slice of heaven to anyone visiting the area...fish or not.

Room Tip: we stayed in the small cabin, and it was terrific! two beds, but room for a couple of cots.

Roaring River Resort is the nicest place to stay out of all the loding in cassville in my opinion! We have stayed at a few different locations and prefer this one! Its has clean, nice rooms and is very convenient if spending the majority of your time at the river! Looking forward to another stay in June!
