“Great Value in a really nice Motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

Have stayed here twice now with the same experience . . .all good. The staff I have encountered have been great and as accomodating as possible. Rooms were adequate in size, and all appeared to be very clean and fresh. Pool and spa is a plus (we have used them both times as well). They have a blend of outside or indoor corridor rooms, we prefer the outside doors and were able to latch on to 3 rooms all next to each other. Breakfast was "just OK" which was by far good enough, considering what the room cost. This motel is every bit as nice as other's I have stayed in for $60 - $80 more.

We had a coupon for this hotel and when we checked in the clerk was very pleasant and friendly. It went downhill from there. Our non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke and body odor. The air conditioner was on when we arrived but the room was not cool. We turned down the temp as far as we could then went out for supper. When we returned, our room was still warm and sticky. We tried everything we could think of but still had no success. We finally called down to the front desk and were told we had the "old" air conditioner. We were given another room. This one smelled equally bad but at least it was cooler.
The pool was disgusting. It was badly in need of a cleaning (you couldn't see the bottom of the pool) and smelled so strongly of chlorine that it was difficult to breathe. The hot tub was equally nasty.
The rooms need new everything (bad carpet, old and stained beds and faded chairs and curtains).
On the plus side, the shower has good power, there is a nice microwave and fridge in each room and the breakfast choices are pretty good. Also, the towels and sheets are clean and the sink looks newly installed.

We checked into the EconoLodge before 12pm on Friday. The clerk was helpful and efficient, and our room was ready. The room with double beds was clean, and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. The room had a microwave and refrigerator, but no coffee pot. The continental breakfast consisted of two kinds of cereal, donuts, milk, apple and orange juice, coffee and condiments. There were also two self service waffle irons to make belgian waffles. Margarine and syrup were available. Everything seemed fresh.

We were there for three days. My only complaint is that while the indoor pool looked inviting, the chlorine was so strong that you could not get near the water, no one used it during our entire stay. The children who were staying in the room next to us were very disappointed because their parents would not let them go swimming.
