Someone on trip advisor recommended this restaurant in Cape Girardeau and I'm glad they did. We were passing through and spending the night in Cape Girardeau. We wanted to stay away from the chains and find a restaurant downtown. Broussard's was a great choice. Friendly service, good food and large portions. I'm not sure if there is any connection to the restaurant in New Orleans, but it is a cajun style restaurant, with cajun food on the menu. I had the fried catfish, which was delicious, came with a nice fresh house salad, hush puppies and a choice of potato. Everyone at the table was happy with their choice. The best part was the band that started playing around 9pm. Although we couldn't see them from the restaurant part, we could hear them and they were great. After our meal, we sat in the bar part and listened to a set. We had underaged teens with us, but the staff were good and let us stay for the set. We left after that. The restaurant is located downtown, a nice change for us from the busy commercial areas close to the Interstate. If you find yourself in Cape Girardeau, check it out, you will be glad you did.
