Three of us went out for dinner to Roots and whilst the venue is smart and elegant the walk from the car to the restaurant can be tough on girls with high heels or the infirm.
As a non-alcohol drinker I was restricted to one choice - Monis Sparkling Grape Juice - which is sweet and not to my taste. I was told corkage to bring my own non-alcohol champagne would be R150 - a "little" over the top I think.
The fixed set course menu was delicious, well presented and well explained by the waiters.
Overall I have mixed feelings about the place.
