My husband and I had lunch at Roots restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. What a beautiful setting overlooking a small dam and some wildlife including Zebra and Eland. There is a short dirt road that leads to the restaurant but it is in good condition. The Sunday lunch is a set six course meal and with the wine pairing it comes to R550.00 per person including gratuity, so not your every day meal but worth every cent. If halibut on lobster as a fish course and the most tender pork belly with melt in the mouth tuna is your idea of good food, this is the restaurant for you. Each course was picture perfect and the tastes exploded in my mouth. The portions may look small but beware, after the third course you are very grateful for the melon and mint sorbet. The service is excellent and we never waited long for a course to be served or for our wine glasses to be filled. It is a three hour experience. The wine list is excellent and features some of the best white wine selections I have seen. Ideal for a special occasion or a spoil yourself afternoon.
