“Great Day Out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

For anyone who would like to enjoy a day at the races then this is the place to go, entry fee is good value but food / snacks are very expensive (take your own or eat outside the course). Not as packed as your big racecourses so you are able to walk about and relax rather that get squashed, pushed and shoved about.

“Nice location, but facilities just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Would start by saying this is by no means the worst UK racecourse. Aside from anything else the fact that everything is pretty new is a plus over many places. The main stand is comfortable enough inside and the viewing is good with a screen opposite the stands. There is however very limited catering and not many places where you can sit down. What is there is nice enough, but you feel like they could perhaps offer a bit more!

“Spartan”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Second time of visiting this week. .Firstly.Ill start by warmly welcoming the fact that Walters took up the baton and made this happen in a difficult and challenging environment .Well done The fixture list could be better but unfortuately thats out of his hands.Hes done well in attracting some of the big name trainers to the course.Always helps having a few horses with them !

Lack of Irish trainers coming over .They came initiallyIdont know why they have stopped but still going to the Scotish courses

On Saturday he was interviewed on TV at Cheltenham Races.A great opportunity to advertise the course .A missed opportunity he should stick to digging holes rather than PR by the responses he gave
The course is well laid out "park like" almost similar to Aintree.Always seems to be a fresh wind blowing but again no control over that

The stand buildings are industrial in nature and The Real Mcoys Bar looks like a tyre and exhaust depot very unwelcoming but perhaps its part of the next stage of improvements as finances dictate Its just a pity that theres also no elevational detailing on the buildings to make them look more attractive. It wouldnt have added too much to the cost

The main area with bar/betting area is a bit spartan like a bus terminal\ One of my pet hates is plastic glasses at the bar.I appreciate if you choose to take a glass outside they need to be plastic

The marketing isnt great They offer a discount on the season ticket( which is very reasonable) if bought before the 31st December/.Silly date why dont they make it in January most people are hard pushed in the weeks after Xmas til next payday! to fork out a years money

The catering seems to be a bit polarised .Nothing in between a sandwich/ burger and a slapup.my first visit I wasin the owner.trainers bar wherethere is a no frills restaurant which is very good and very reasonably priced under a tenner
My visit on Monday ended up having a £4.50 burger it was either that of a full hospitality or maybe the officlal i asked got his facts wrong

I hope that this is a success and that monies are ploughed back in to add a little ambience .Congrats for trying need someone in to add al ittle love care and attention I will return again beacuse I support Racing in Wales

“A Vast Improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

After a disastorous visit on Ladies Day it was with trepidation that we went last Sunday to the countryside day. I must admit the food was not up to the standard expected for the price and the choice for someone with special dietry needs was very limited and left much to be desired. Having said that the standard of service was much improved this time, although it could not have been any worse than the previous visit. I for one will not be going for the hospitality package again but for a day at the races it is good fun and well worth a visit.
