I can forgive a lot in a hotel but some things are necessary. The location was great and the clerk was nice. No soap in room but clerk quickly fixed. Room was boring and dated but clean. My biggest complaint was the towels and bedding and bed. Everything was thin and cheap. The pillows were a bad joke and the mattress was a torture device. The bed needs to be comfortable with high quality linens and pillows. This is signature of all nice hotels and is really a must when paying for any hotel room. The whole point is to get a good nights rest. The breakfast was all carbs and again very cheap. Would recommend you keep driving if possible.

My room was clean; it was quiet; everything worked, including the free wireless and the room air conditioner. Didn't take advantage of the "continental" breakfast, but there was always hot coffee in the small lobby. Might have new owners... they gave very good service. I'd stay there again. The only other option in Butler is the Super 8 across the highway, which gets very bad reviews. And check the picturesque courthouse square downtown!

We chose this motel only because it had the last room in town and we had a last minute trip for a family get together. We needed an accessible room for a family member with mobility issues.
The shower was not very accessible for anyone with mobility issues. It featured a tub/shower combo with a bench at one end that prevented the shower curtain from closing. Anyone using it must be able to swing their legs up and over the tub's side while seated on the bench. There was no handheld shower attachment for the person seated on the bench to use so we had to use a big cup to help our family member wash hair and bathe. Because of this set up the floor got very wet and the management was reluctant to give us extra towels. I can't imagine anyone wanting to steal the threadbare, sandpaper-like, dingy towels they offered.
The room featured an old refrigerator from a convenience store, a microwave and coffeemaker, all crammed into the tiny space between one bed and the outside wall. We had to unplug the 'fridge due to the noise it made and the high amount of heat it produced from its coils.
The room was in need of deep cleaning, new beds and new towels. Only the minimum of cleaning had been done and the room had a worn, tired, and dirty appearance. Beds were slab-like and unforgiving. During our stay the outside temp was @ 100 F, yet the A/C was not even on low when we checked in, leaving the room horribly stuffy and hot. During the day, staff doing laundry left the door to the laundry room open, making the hallways even hotter than outside. Everything provided seemed to be the cheapest thing available right down to the toilet tissue!
The location is convenient to the interstate and to several eating places. The bakery in Butler is amazing and the restaurant (The Lantern, I think) across the street has delicious fried chicken and great service. Great town, not great motel.

For the price of the room, the whole experience should have been better. We woke up to the alarm in the next room! And we weren't even traveling with them! The walls were paper thin. We could hear their entire conversation through the wall! It was also difficult to dtermine which was harder: the bed or the concrete floor. It also appeared to be blood on the shower curtain! Take the time to look elsewhere.

Dusty floor in room, grey towels which are supposed to be white, second hand dirty linens, blanket with holes… Electric outlets looked dangerous: plastic lids were detached showing contents. Internet was not available. Announced earlier continental breakfast included corn flakes without milk. Coffee maker and juicier did not work. Add here extremely unfriendly staff – here is the portrait of this hotel.

This was one of 2 available motels for a business trip. I checked in quickly before a meeting and settled in much later after my meeting. When I turned down the bed, there was a cigarette butt that was made into the sheets!!!!. I could tell that it hadn't burned there becaused the sheets weren't burned, but were dirty due to the blackened butt. I can't imagine how it happened, especially since most of the motel is non-smoking. I have never smoked. MY advice, check the bedding before you settle into the room. In anger, I switched to the other motel, only to find that the same management and cleaning crew was working over there also. :(

  • Liked — Close to my meeting destination
  • Disliked — Very heavy odor of far-Eastern seasonings throughout the motel
  • Tips/Secrets — Check the sheets before settling into the room
