“Not as good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We were introduced to Springhill Suites in The Woodlands, Texas and came away from the experience determined to use Springhill every time possible. We were disappointed in this location. Everything seemed smaller. The lobby area . . . smaller. The room . . . smaller (I would guess 25% smaller). Rooms were clean. Breakfast was decent. Staff was just okay, not very personable. The location was fantastic, close to the St. Louis Zoo, Galleria Mall, etc. But when you pay $162.00 per night for a two-queen-bed room, you are expecting more than what we experienced. Given all the choices in this area at that price, would not choose this hotel again.

I stay here a lot on business and this hotel never dissapoints.
The rooms are clean, staff friendly, breakfast better than average.
The area round the hotel has plenty of food choices so ask the staff at the reception.

i wanted to give this better than average as it is nice, but the service made it just very ok.
everything was ok, but little things like the check in being a mess, laundry having to be turned in at silly early times and the regime of having to take your do not disturb off by 07:30 or no room service that day were all pretty crazy, and a handful of other things over a month long stay. i would absolutely stay again and even recommend, there is nothing wrong with the place, other than no outdoor pool. i just found the service to hit the very mediocre mark even tho the place is very nice and in a great location. stayed here a month for work and everything was fine. just couldn't give it the higher marks.

Room Tip: the walls are for sure, very thin, so bring ear plugs in case your neighbors are the quieter types

FIrst time at a Springhill Suite, though i use Marriotts extensively. Location is simply great. Near a couple major malls, lots of food choices, easy access to the freeways, Parking in the structure beside the hotel - free. Quick, easy check in. Breakfast was simple but well done with eggs/waffles etc as well as the pastry/juice/coffee you normally see in these chains.
What i was a bit surprised at was the room itself. The amenities were all there. It was relatively large , two flat screens, little kitchen area with microwave, clean, good beds - i slept well, but the layout was - utilitarian ? unplanned ? squeezed? kind of college dorm-y ?
Just a frosted glass between the bed area and the couch/desk. with a wide open view each way. small bathroom sink area. that sort of thing.
I think i was especially surprised because i have recently stayed at a SHeraton and a Hilton that were similar, and both were very well thought out and appointed. Normally Marriotts have it all over the other chains.

Comfortable, spacious, clean, and great staff, who responded to guest issues appropriately on my last stay.

There are some restaurants and retail near the property.

I have stayed here a couple of times, and would definitely stay again.

This was our second family trip to St Louis in the last 3 years and this trip we wanted to stay near Forest Park. We usually stay in Marriott properties and this one fit the bill. It is only about two blocks off I64, just west of the park. This SpringHill was second generation property, in that it was not the latest design, rather the transition between the original style and the latest style suites. The location is clean and the staff was both friendly and efficient (we were really impressed by the lady who worked the free breakfast area). Our room was a double queen with very good mattresses. It also had an "L" shaped couch and a well plugged work area for our two computers, phone chargers, etc. another plus for us were the refrigerator, bar sink, and microwave. We really appreciate the extra room SpringHill Suites offers (even compared to Courtyard). As far as parking is concerned, how do free AND covered sound, they had both. There are several places to eat within walking distance and a Walmart and Sam's are within a block which is good for cheap gas and forgotten items. Next time we come to St Louis, this property will definitely be on our short list of options.

Spring Hill Suites is our new place to stay when visiting St Louis. It's not only located close to our family, it is centrally located in the St Louis area.

At first we thought parking was going to be a nightmare, however; there is a free parking garage on the side of the property which was well lit and had plenty of spaces during our 4 night stay.

Check-in was easy. We booked online directly through website. NOTE: Email confirmation quoted rate at $119.00 per night. Actual billing was $129.00 per night which we didn't discover until an email receipt arrived the day after our departure. We did not check out at hotel desk. A simple phone call remedied the error.

Our 1st floor room was great. The king size bed was very comfortable with soft linens and plenty of pillows. The suite is nicely appointed. The L shaped couch opens to a double bed which was perfect for a "pajama party" with our toddler grandsons.

The kitchen area suited our needs - microwave, fridge, wet bar and coffee machine. Flat screen TV swivels from living room area to bedroom. The bathroom was large - we loved the shower!

There is an indoor pool, however; it is very small. The grandsons didn't mind but don't expect to swim laps. There is also a small exercise room with some free weights, treadmills and elipticals. Good for a quick cardio workout.

The free breakfast has a good variety of food - scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereals, pastry items, fruit, juice and coffee.

Outside of the hotel is plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Room Tip: We were wary about a 1st floor room as the driveway was near our window, however; it was very quiet.
