“Horrific Stay - Waste of Money”

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Bugs in bathroom & living room. Apparently hitched a ride home with us... found a roach in our luggage when we got home. DISGUSTED! Air Conditioning is ancient and not efficient left us sticky and hot and was so loud when running you couldn't hear each other speak, also TV is as old as dirt with poor reception, so if you need to watch the weather to check on your day's weather - forget it!

Moldy/Musty smell. Allergy sufferers beware.

Trash piled to the sky in the dumpsters inviting bugs galore. For less money we could of had a regular hotel room and skipped the kitchenette (which is why we chose this place). OR we could of spent a bit more and had an extremely nice two bedroom unit with kitchenette at a variety of other places.

“Nice view, clean room”

I read reviews of this property rating it anywhere from 1-4 and was perplexed as why such a wide variation. The answer is the resort has a wide range of accommodations and a huge difference in quality. It has been built over at least a 30 year period, maybe longer. It is very spread out with a very rustic and well worn landscape. We stayed in a new, built in 2006, "Deluxe Studio Condo. [--]

The room was clean and had a great view. I requested a good view when I booked the room and I got what I requested. It was a nice size with a king bed, queen sofa, table and four chairs, gas fireplace, TV, and VCR. There is deck with a great view, with a table, two chairs and an electric grill. It is a second floor (top floor) walk up, at the top of the hill. The unit has a large whirlpool tub that my wife enjoyed. We stayed 3 nights.

There is a another bedroom adjoining this unit that can be locked off, so it could be a two bedroom unit, but the second bedroom would not have a lake view. It basically doesn't have a view as it looks out onto the access deck for the floor and the parking lot.

Linens were not good quality, towels were changed daily but some were frayed and all were average quality. The refrigerator made way too much noise.

The room is heated and cooled with a typical, motel type, through the wall air handling unit. As is usually the case with these units, it was noisy. The unit exhausts onto the small deck over looking Table Rock Lake. The view is great, but the experience is diminished by the noise and the hot exhaust air from the air handling unit.

The air handling unit sits under the window so it obstructs any lake view from inside the unit. So you get a good lake view when standing up inside but none when you are seated.

There are two swimming pools, one a 3-4 minute walk away next to a group of small cottages built probably in the 1960s. Another pool is an 8-10 minute walk down the hill next to the Lodge that is probably about 20 years old. (I don't think we would have liked staying there. They don't appear to be very well maintained although we did't go into any of them) The pools appear to be very, very average, although we didn't use them.

There is a large covered boat dock near the lodge, about a 10 minute walk from our condo. There are boat rentals available.

There appear to be plans for a "Club House", pool, and recreation area next to building we stayed in and there are more units being built.

Unfortunately the weather was not great during our stay,as you can see from the pictures, so we spent most of our time watching great shows. Don't miss Shoji Tabuchi!! [--]

I just returned from a weekend trip with my brother and his fiancee. He had booked the trip online, but didn't read the reviews, apparently. When we arrived, the room looked nothing like he saw online. The carpeting was damp, the one A/C unit in the sitting area was really loud, and the paneled walls were STICKY. In the bedrooms, the blankets were stained, and our bathroom light switch looked like it had blood smeared on it. The TV is left over from the 1970s, I believe. Towels were stiff, and some of the dishes in the kitchenette were dirty. For $180 a night, I could have stayed at a four-star hotel. I have stayed in $50 a-night hotels that were much cleaner and more appealing. This place is really disappointing (and should NOT be labeled as a "resort.") PLEASE do not waste your money. If you do stay at Indian Point Lodge, choose the condos, which looked MUCH better (at least from the outside.)

“Great Dock!”

Indian Point Lodge

Joplin, mo
Aug 19, 2007

I have been looking for a resort with a boat ramp and docking facilities friendly to my 24 foot boat. The last couple of resorts that we had stayed at had narrow ramps and crummy docks. The boat dock and ramp at indian point was FANTASTIC. The ramp was wide and easy to back down. The dock was well lit, clean, and had built-in plastic bumpers so i did not have to deploy fenders when docking. The swim platform ran the length of the dock, and you could see some of the fireworks from celebration city at night. You also had a great view of the Chateau and the Dam.

The room was O.K. It was clean, with the exception on a lamp that needed dusted on top. I think the room had been smoked in as the smoke odor was quite strong, but i can not hold that against the staff as i did not specifically ask for a non-smoking room. The pool, kiddie pool and hot tub were very clean. The grounds were kept up nice. Gravel roads made it a bit dusty.

The staff were very friendly. I asked if we could continue to use the dock and ramp past checkout, and they invited us to use the facilities all day.

All in all, I was extremely with my stay. We finaly found a resort with a great location by both land and water. We will definitely be coming back for the return trips to branson

“Nice Place”

Indian Point Lodge

Aug 10, 2007

We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo. It was very nice. The room was relatively clean, and very spacious for a family of 5. The employees were very friendly and accomodating. The only negative is the beds, they were hard as rocks! Most hotel beds are not the most comfortable, but these beds were incredibly hard. Not a good night's sleep if your're looking to relax after a busy day. Other than the beds, the place was great.
