My wife and I stayed at this hotel in October 2013. Something that was particularly interesting was the demographic of the other guests - nearly everybody else staying at this hotel was really old. That also means they are really quiet too - so if you're looking for a peaceful night's sleep, this is the hotel you want to be.
The Welk Hotel shares a pool area with their timeshare resort across the parking lot, so if you want to use the pool area, you do need to purchase a $10 wristband to access the pool area. The pool area consists of one water slide (fun), a large indoor/outdoor pool, an indoor hot tub, and an outdoor hot tub. Mini golf is included in the hotel stay (but it's nothing fancy). The restaurant is in the Lawrence Welk Theater, so you do need to walk outside of the hotel to get to it which can be less than ideal if the weather is cold. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant is NOT included in the cost of your stay - it is an additional charge. We did not eat at the restaurant.
