Found this via the visit Branson website as a package deal. The lodge was nice. The room needs updated but it was still very nice. The bathroom was huge which is good for me - I hate tiny bathrooms. All the "activities" close at 8pm so if you are traveling out of season (aka winter) take note. Even the on-site restaurant isn't open at lunch. I tried to do laundry in the guest laundry and after the change machine not working, then the check-in not having change I was able to scrounge enough to do one load. It took over 3 hours and the clothes still were not dry. So, do not plan on laundry unless you want to waste a whole morning.
Front desk did call to warn us one morning to say they were testing the fire alarms for about 2 hours (luckily we were on our way out for the day). It appeared they were remodeling the East part of the lodge and the workers were in and out most of the day but really didn't disturb you in the early morning hours.
We rented a movie from the activities (splash zone) the last night and enjoyed it but wished we had some popcorn! Ha!
There is a coupon magazine in the room so look in it if your going out!

We chose to stay at this hotel because of the indoor/outdoor waterpark. We went in August when it was hot outside so the pool was the main attraction. Checking in was smooth, and the people were friendly. Our rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. We had asked for a fridge, and at check-in we were told there are a limited number and if one came available they would bring it to our room. We never received one and we did not get charged for it. We just used a cooler instead. The pool area was nice. We spent two full days hanging out there. There was a small kiddie area for my 3 year old that occupied him for a long time, with a bucket that dumps and fountains and such. It has a decent waterslide. You can order food and drinks from the pool area and they will deliver them. We had the pizza and it was good. There was a work out room and activity/game room that my teenagers used and said it was nice. We had their breakfast buffet one morning. It was a little expensive for family of 5, but it was good. The grounds were kept very nice. There was also a separate pool behind the hotel that we saw some people using, who must have wanted to avoid the crowd. We felt the room rate was good and would definately return. It was clean and we slept great. Biggest downfall to me was that there was no fridge in the room.

The Welk Resort is the place to stay in Branson if you are looking for a hotel with an indoor/outdoor water park. The check-in was a breeze. The staff were very professional and accomidating. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The Water Park is detached from the main hotel but just a short walk across the parking lot. The restaurant is also detached from the main hotel building, a covered walkway is provided. The morning breakfast buffet serves up a nice variety sure to please everyone in your party. Stop by the front desk to purchase vouchers for the breakfast buffet in order to save a few bucks. The location is two miles off the strip on the yellow (south) bypass route. It is very convenient to Silver Dollar City as well. I highly reccomend the Welk especially for families.

We went as a family over Christmas Eve to stay the night and just do something different without leaving Branson. The kids had a great time swimming and playing in the activities center. I was especially thankful for the front desk lady that called all the pizza places in town to find us dinner. We will recommend Welk and come back soon.
