“Great family vacation spot - our grandkids LOVED it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

We took our two oldest grandchildren to Silver Dollar City in Branson. I actually found out about The Tribesman Resort on TripAdvisor.com and chose it because of its good reviews. It turned out that it wasn't exactly what I expected, but we still loved it and had a great time. Upon check in, we were greeted very warmly and given an overview of what all there was to do. Our room was divided into a lving room/kitchenette area and a bedroom. When we first walked in, there was a distinct scent of bleach, but not overwhelming. I actually was glad to know things were disinfected. The accommodations were comfortable. We had a big window unit air conditioner, which I loved. It blew really good, cold air and drowned out any noise from outside. There was playground equipment for the kids, an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, the lake, activities, free laundry facilities, ducks -- I could go on. We could have had a great time even if we'd never left the property. There was a little shopping are within easy walking distance. We were just about three miles from the entrance to Silver Dollar City which was great. One of our very favorite things about this place was the fireflies. There were thousands of them flying around in the bushes outside our room. I've never seen anything like it before. Our grandkids still talk about what a great time we had here. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: If you have children be sure to request a room near the playground equipment AND near the laundry fa...

We found the Tribesman Resort on line and reserved Labor Day and the next two days for a family vacation with our girls, their husbands and our two 2 year old grandsons. You never know what to expect when finding places on line but we can't say enough about the Tribesman. We stayed in the newer section with the 4 bedroom, 4 bath. It was awesome.....plenty of room for everyone to find their own space. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We plan to make this an annual event!

After reading some previous reviews, I was a little cautious about going to this resort with the mold concerns. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and had an absolute blast. We stayed in the newer section and the pool was right next to our house. The walk to the lake/dock was not too far. Workers were friendly and helpful. Our DVD player would not hook up to the TV although we were told that it would before we arrived. However, cable was clear and available for evening use for the children. Dishes and cleaning supplies were available and appropriate. I'm ready to go back again next year. It's so close to SDC and Branson Strip. The prices were very affordable and everyone enjoyed their stay. I highly recommend this resort for families who like to remain active with nature, fishing, boating, children activities, swimming, etc...

Thank you for picking Tribeman Resort and for posting a nice review. If you come back to stay with us and have any trouble hooking up your DVD or game system, let us know. Some of the TVs are harder to set up for this; but, we can take care of this for you. We also carry special adapters that we can install if needed. Again thanks for choosing us.

We were 27 strong celebrating a 90th Birthday/Family Reunion.......we couldn't have picked a better place. Our 2 cottages each with 6 bedrooms with their own bathrooms made sleeping arrangements a non issue. The 9 yr to 2 yr set loved setting up kid size tents in the large Family Room and slept there rather than with their parents. What a bonding time for cousins and 2nd cousins. The Family Room was designated as "the area" if inclement weather was an issue. It wasn't, but was sure nice to know we had space to spread out inside if we had to. We did suggest adding good ol' Ozark-type wood peg racks inside each bedroom and outside at the front door. Great for hanging up those almost dry towels, suits, jackets, swim vests, hats and that still clean t-shirt you wore yesterday and will tomorrow but don't want to put it back in the duffle bag with your still clean t-shirts.

Speaking of clean...........Clean-clean-clean. Our cottages were new this year but that doesn't mean they'd be clean. These were. And Marsha checks on you every day to make sure you have fresh bath towels, coffee filters and trash bags.

Our whole family cooks a lot.......and we did. Pretty well equipped kitchens but they lacked large bowls. (We left a couple of large, plastic dollar store type so they have some now!!)

Only one small group went off property for a few hours (to Silver Dollar City). All things Branson are just down the road a ways but everyone else spent the entire time in the water, on the swim dock, on the boat, fishing and walking around finding frogs, lizards and turtles. Plan on building a fire in the freestanding pit every night and stand back. The kids (40 and under) couldn't make enough s'mores for the group so they made and offered them to fellow Tribesman visitors as they strolled by! Oh, yes. reserve a golf cart. The little kids found this as fun as the boat and it made it SO easy to get 90 year old Gigi to and from the swim dock and boat.

Room Tip: Cottages the best choice for our large group but the drawback, no view of the lake.

We appreciate your review and your suggestion of the hanger pegs. We always look to any suggestions our guest provide. We can't always do them but we always consider them and do them when possible. In fact the unit style you stayed in is a result of our past guests suggestions of what they'd like in a resort cottage. We are glad your reunion had a great time. Hope to see your group again, and thanks !

Second time to have family vacation here. Stay in their new 4 bedroom 4 bath cabins! They were perfect, even washer & dryer with large dining area so all could sit down for dinner. Very quiet, clean and as always staff was friendly and helpful. Good boating available, fishing, swimming dock and lots of trees with, small restaurant & market nearby - just down the road from Silver Dollar City and close into Branson for shows and other activities. Our family of 16 (stayed in 2 cabins) range in age from 3 to 81 and it met all our needs! Definately will be going back for a 3rd visit hopefully real soon - so relaxing First visit we were in the cabins in "Timber Top" and this time "Timber Oaks"

The Timbertop accommodations should be torn down. They are very old, smell like mold , anyone with breathing problems would have a hard time. The parking for these accommodations is very limited and difficult to access. They have newer places to rent, but they are ,of course the first to go. The resort should not rent the timbertops out to anyone, at over $200.00 a night should have gone to a motel.

First off I am sorry you did not like the your choice of lodging here at the Tribesman. I do wish you would have complained to us. We would have liked to have done something to make your stay better, be it fix the problem or get you another unit, etc.... To suggest that we destroy 10 buildings in a section because there may be a fixable issue with 1 building seems rather extreme.
Timber Top is a repeat area of the resort, meaning it is often requested by repeat guests. This is due to it being truely in the forest, where the deer really do walk by, frequently. It is a very relaxing part of the resort. They are a rustic style unit, which some people love and some dont' . They have modern amenities, but a rich wood paneling instead of sheet rock. The review is correct in that we do have much newer units here at the resort. Some people prefer newer, others request Timber Top each year. It is a matter of personal preference.

We called the office soon after arriving with a question about the air conditioning; within 5 minutes one of the owners was over to inspect it and measured the air output with his guage. It was working properly; we had just let the cool air escape as we were moving things in. The point is-- he was there within 5 minutes to check!!! We asked for some fans and they quickly brought over some fans to make us more comfortable.
We rented one of the pontoon boats but our party wasn't ready to go at the assigned time; our family arrived a half hour late. That was not a big deal to the owner; they just started our 2 hour time period when everyone was ready to go. I don't think many places would be that accomodating.
There aren't a lot of "rules" for the property; they want everyone to have a good time. This is truly a family oriented resort.
Our 4 bedroom unit was clean and sufficiently furnished. The mattresses were firm and in very good condition-- no sags in the middle; they just weren't as comfortable as what we have at home
