“Exceptional course and spectacular site! Do not miss playing if you are anywhere nearby.”
A must play if you are anywhere near Branson. Set on some spectacular topograpy, Tom Fazio has done what he does best an has created a beautiful and fun golf course. Set in the rolling hills south of Branson, this course is a pleasure to play and is in better condition and is better crafted than most private courses.
It is a great balance between being challenging for the better player and still fair and playable for the higher handicap players. You can look for a weak hole here but good luck finding one. Every hole brings a strong challenge or beautiful view into play. The variety and routing of the course is great as well as each hole brings a different challenge. The superb topography also brings about many really fun tee shots off of elevated tees down to the fairway. The par 5 first hole is a great example of hitting downhill to a wide and generous fairway. Holes #4, #7, #8, #10, #12, #13 and #15 are all ridiculously fun tee shots to lower fairways. There are so many downhill holes you will wonder how you made it back up to the clubhouse on the hill. The enjoyment of you round will certainly ride with your driver.
The toughest holes will likely be #2 (the #1 handicap hole by the way) and #8. #2 is a tight par 4 that requires the best most accurate drive of the day playing to a green that falls off to the left. This is a truly great par 4. The only problem is that is comes so early in the round so make sure you spend some time on the range, which is really nice also. Par 5 #8 is another tough hole with a creek running all along the left side and some unforgiving natural woods. If you are fortunate enough to hit the fairway then you have one of the few uphill shots to the green.
If you are a golfer, then make the trip. You won't be sorry. There are several other courses in the area that will make the trip worth your while. Play it before it goes private.
