“Not overly impressed”

I was taking a weekend trip with one of my girlfriends and found this resort online at a great price. I am not an owner so maybe that affected the treatment we received throughout our stay.

First when we got there we were greeted friendly enough and checked-in quickly. We headed to our room (unescorted) only to discover a bag of trash outside the room. I was instantly weary of the room, but tried the key. Neither key worked, which told me someone was already in there. We then hauled our luggage back to the first floor for assistance. It took a while for anyone to register that we were given a booked room. After quietly bickering about it, the three employees were able to get us a vacant room. I've worked in management for customer service jobs, so to anyone else, the way things were handled may have been acceptable, but I saw it as very unprofessional. The girl who checked us in blamed the wrong room assignment on the apparent "incompetence" of other employees.

We tried numerous times to reach the concierge, who was never at the desk. The one time we did reach her and asked about a show at the Dixie Stampede, she told us the show we wanted was sold out. Luckily we investigated further because there was plenty if seating available, so we did get to go.

Lastly, while this was a misunderstanding on our end, we missed check out by 20 min because we thought it was 11am check-out. The girl who called to let us know what rude about it and made us feel horrible for the misunderstanding. So she made it clear that we would be charged with late check-out. Which is understandable, but we never received anything but a quick oh we're sorry for the incorrect check-in.

Westgate Branson Woods is "ok", I just wonder if owners get friendlier treatment.

The resort was in a beautiful area but I would have preferred the location during a warmer part of the year. The service at the resort was very good, staff was very helpful. Our kids enjoyed the activity center and indoor pool. Johnny Lonestar offered a lot of great advice on what to see and where to go.

We have stayed her numerous times & have tried out the villa, deluxe villa, & the one bedroom cabin. Love the cleanliness & helpfulness of the resort and staff. Love that it's your own private escape away from home.

We had booked a week but were afraid we would not be able to make it due to snow storm so we booked one night in the motel rooms. Room was clean but the bed was too firm for our comfort. The condos in the main building were very nice. The only problems we had were with the Jacuzzi tub and the water pressure in the shower. I'm sure the water pressure issue was pre-set to save water but we like more water pressure. The spa tub was huge...built for two people. However, when we filled the tub and turned on the jets, black junk came out of the jets and we had to drain the tub. Tried a second time and still got black junk. Couldn't use the tub then because we had used all the hot water. Finally able to use the tub the next day but still got particles of black junk from the jets.

The roads into the property are very steep and we were afraid we would have trouble getting in and out but they did an excellent job keeping them clear. We had no trouble at all on the property but the roads in Branson left a lot to be desired. We just stayed in the condo for three days. A nice place to stay though.

Room Tip: The motel rooms are just that...motel rooms...but they are clean. Don't know about the cabins b...

We have stayed here a few times. We have had a two bedroom villa, the basic motel room, and most recently the one bedroom villa. These are by far the nicest! We loved it! We had a full kitchen and everything was modern and clean. The resort has nice amenities as well. If you avoid the "welcome package" (Aka -time share suck in), then you will enjoy your stay. As others mentioned the check in process takes FOREVER, but that's really the only negative.

Room Tip: Get a one bedroom villa in the buildings at the bottom of the hill.

We exchanged through Interval International for a week at WBW. Up arrival we were directed to an account representative who wasn't fully knowledgeable with his own program and was sick. He kept wiping his nose with his right hand and sneezing. He then offered his pen for us to sign the forms. I declined the offer.

We were then directed to a cabin which was old and poorly furnished and had two 19" CRT TV's. Totally unacceptable for a premier five star resort. We went back the center and refused what they had offered. They were very apologetic and placed us in a villa. Still not premium accommodations but adequate and well located in the resort. Second day in, the heating system failed with a major winter storm projected for that night. We had to move to another villa. Not a big deal but they offered nothing in the way of compensation for having to repack, move and again unpack. They missed an opportunity to show their concern for their guests comfort.

The time share presentation was pleasant enough though the promised breakfast was a crockpot of gravy and some biscuits which we were to eat during the presentation. We declined the breakfast.

Later in the week we attended another presentation for the Westgate Vaction Club, mainly to get two tickets to Silver Dollar City ($120 value). Again the presentation was pleasant enough but the tickets we received at the end had been previously issued to someone else who had signed them (as is required to prevent someone else using them the next day or later the same day) and the signatures had been whited out. The ticket stated on the back that such action would result in confiscation upon presentation at the gate. As it ended up, the winter storm did hit and the amusement park closed so the tickets were not used. WBW did exchange the tickets for one of the shows.

All in all, it was a good vacation but not at the level we had expected. And yes, my wife did contract a cold a was sick the last two days.

Westgate, you have got a ways to go in pleasing your guests.
