“Awesome Fun for Everyone!”

Grand Country Inn

Mar 17, 2008

We loved this place! The hotel was not fancy, but clean and adequate. Since the price of the hotel room included the water park, we did not feel the room was overpriced at all. We played for hours in the water park and ate supper at the grill located inside the water park. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were big. Yum! All the employees were nice and helpful, especially the ladies who worked at the buffet. We ate breakfast there and it was sooo good!!! We only stayed one night and figured the one evening of water fun was all that was included, but to our surprise, the front desk clerk told us the kids could splash all that day too!-even though we had checked out! How cool was that?!!! Dad needed something to do with our younger kids while the older one and I shopped, so this was perfect and such a nice surprise. We saw the Amazing Pets Show while we were there too and it was very cute especially for younger kids- (under 12) A lot of people have said negative things on this site about this hotel. I can't imagine why! We had a great time and will definately go again.

I contacted this hotel in person while on a previous trip, was impressed with the indoor water park and wanted to bring my family back the specifically stay here, so booked my Labor Day weekend well in advance of the holiday. Grand Country Buffet is wonderful!, but not part of the deal and the only connection to the hotel guests is free coffee or tea. The location is perfect, in the middle of the Hwy 76 activities. The towel service is great, with plenty of clean fresh towels to swim with. Those are the best things I can say about the business. Like one of the other reviews, the hotel has over charged my credit card. and now almost 3 weeks later, I'm still trying to get it corrected. VISA says it's the hotel, Hotel says it's VISA. I have stayed in several other area hotels and resorts, and this is the worst stay we have ever had. Without paying extra for the privilege of a close room, even though I had very early reservations, we had to drive to the waterpark. If you're going to drive to a water park and pay extra, I would recommend WhiteWater. I have used by debit/credit card at othe facilities in the area and never had this problem. With other hotels, you get free breakfast, etc., With this one, you get nothing, except a place to stay and the right to drive up to the water park. Our rooms were relatively clean, but the phones and TVs didn't work. I would not recommend this hotel, but would seriously consider staying at one of the more reasonably priced hotels and spend my money on other activities. Good luck!

My granddaughter was in a competition so we booked a room for two nights. We also booked a room for one night for my daughter and her husband so we could be near the competition which was being held in the music hall. We were in a room which was down a hill and in building 2. My daughter was in a room in building one. I had made reservations on the phone. The staff got the accomendations mixed up and we were charged for an extra night. We did get a partial credit for the room mix-up, but not a full refund. The next morning we had to move from building 2 up to building one . So we had to move twice. No one was interested in good customer service which I have never experienced in any oither motel in Branson. The only thing free was coffee and tea. Most places will give you free dinner tickets and some give free show tickets. This place is over priced and over rated. The indoor waterpark was ok and good for kids but that is the only thing good I can say about this place. If you want to stay in Branson I suggest you think twice about staying here.

“Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed At”

Grand Country Inn

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. OVERPRICED ROOMS!! $119 + tax for a regular room with no microwave or fridge & a TINY bathroom!! ($10 extra if you want to be close to the waterpark) I had booked my reservations via the phone months ahead of time & was given a rate which included tax. I called the day before I arrived to comfirm my reservation. Upon arrival I was charged alot more that I had comfirmed my reservation for. They said "I don't know where you got that rate from" & refused to lower my rate. I was very unhappy. BE SURE IF YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS TO GET YOUR RATE IN WRITTING!!!

If it wasn't a Holiday we'd have stayed somewhere else, cause it gets worse. (all other hotels were booked up)

The property was Dirty & we had found a roach in our room upon check in. We complained to the front desk & they did nothing. The next morning they sent housekeeping to our room who called an exterminator & they sprayed our room.

Our air unit in our room made a loud noise.

We went to the indoor/outdoor waterpark which was a lot smaller that expected. After a few hours we had to leave because the chemical smells from the indoor pools made our heads hurt & made the kids sick.

My husband had left a complaint in the office about our room & check in & was told a manager would contact us, which has yet to happen.

I will NEVER stay here again & I do NOT recommend it to anyone. There is no manager on duty so if anything goes wrong there policy is "oh well"

My advice, if you just have to go to the water park, stay somewhere else & buy tickets to go. I think you can get 5 for $90. We spent $270 for a 2 nights stay.

Well, when we arrived at the grand country inn, we realized that their isn't really anything grand about it. It's a normal hotel like the one we paid $55 for a night last year there. They put us in a room on the other side of the parking lot where we would have to drive to the waterpark and pool. We called and wanted something closer and they said they didn't have anything closer and all the rooms were booked. We were also ont he top floor and wanted the bottom and they said their was nothing availiable. Well, I decided to call back again and I spoke with another girl who got the manager and she said their was a room open directly across from the indoor waterpark so she let us stay there. it's funny how 5 minuted before their wasn't a single room open. So I guess it pays to be persistent. Well, the room was normal and the indoor waterpark was very small and the lazy river was very overcrowded. I guess it's kinda a good deal for the waterpark and room for a $100 a night so we still had fun but if you book a room make sure it's close to the waterpark or be prepared to drive to it or a 10 minute walk.
