“has some problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Our Joymakers from church spent four days at this location. They were having major fire alarm problems which caused these elderly people to be shuffled out front at 6:30 in the morning. The hotel called the alarm co but the alarm chose times day and night to go off. Besides this everything else was okay. The rooms okay, staff okay, and breakfast average.

Room Tip: Would make sure alarm system was up to date before I booked a room

We stayed at this hotel from the 19th through the 21st. The reviewer before us mentioned the smoke alarm going off at 6:45 am on their last day. Well, that was our first day, and we were all evacuated in the freezing cold, only to be ushered back in with no explanation, and around 8am it went off again. This time they acted disgusted when everyone came downstairs, saying they were "testing" the alarm. Thanks for deafening and scaring us all again! Some of us were trying to get some sleep we'd lost! The next night was uneventful, but last night was the absolute kicker. The alarm went off again at 2am, sending us all scrambling to get dressed and out of the building, our child exhausted, complaining and cold, only to have them snootily order us back to our rooms due to "a false alarm!" We finally were able to get our child back to sleep, only to be woken TWICE MORE by the alarm throughout the night! We got virtually zero sleep before our drive back home today, and U was fighting falling asleep behind the wheel. They wouldn't even offer an apology at checkout. No amount of cleanliness can make up for such lack of hospitality. We should have demanded our money back, as the primary purpose of a hotel room is sleep, which we could not get!!!

Nice hotel in Branson, clean comfortable rooms, breakfast provided daily but not much to choose from to eat and the coffee was horrible. If they added penaut butter for protein source that would have helped. In room coffee not too bad if you use two packs per cup . Although lots of good places to eat breakfast in Branson. Pool area clean and private when we were there only one other couple in the pool. nice! Everyone at the desk was very friendly. We would probably try a condo next time because most things in Branson are rather pricey and / or a buffet when it comes to food. We did have a microwave and a fridge in the room which came in handy. we had the smoke alram go off at 6:45 on the last day of being able to sleep in. No fire thank goodness but no explanation either.

Room Tip: any room not facing the front of the buidling- curtains needed clipped shut to prevent the light fro...

We celebrated my husband's birthday 10-12-12. We selected this hotel because of what others were saying on tripadvisor. We were very happy with our choice. Because of reading what other tripadvisors recommended we knew to ask for building 2 which was newly remodeled. We knew each morning breakfast
Was alternated, the first morning of our stay eggs and sausage were in building 2. The next morning building 2 had biscuits & gravy, while building 1 had eggs & sausage. We knew there would be a flat screen tv, microwave, and a small fridge. We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Grand Oaks for helping me make my husband's birthday a very happy occasion!!!!!!!!

We stayed 3 nights here . I have stayed her many years ago and the hotel was nice at that time, however this trip was a disappointement. The carpet on the fist floor hallway needs to be replaced. It was dull from wearing, look stained and or dirty. They were working on the entry way of the hotel outside, very hard to get into the lobby and then to even use a loading rack to bring out stuff indoors was a hassell just to get past the workers blocking a lot of the area.
The breakfast says..hot, yes it was hot but unless you are a fan of bagged microwave cooked eggs... pass on that, bananna cut in half with brown spots all over...well to ripe, must have gotten them at a discount., Oatmeal that was ok... with on brown sugar to put on that, NO HOT CHOCOLATE OE APPLE CIDER MIX... bring your own. NO pastries... canned peaches. Better to skip breakfast and go eat someplace for more of a variety. Oh, the sausage... nasty tasting also...microwaved of course.
The room was ok...bedding was clean, one chair to sit at the desk inside the room, so if there were two ppl in the room one had to sit on the bed. Heavens forbid if there was a family of 4 in the room. ok... i think you might get the feel of this hotel... pass it up, there are many others that are priced this same amount of money... I will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel for a better stay.

We stayed in building 1, without the remodel, the room was fine. The atmosphere was of an older building, older TV.s , we couldn't get the curtains to close fully, old carpet. The staff was fine, the breakfast was okay. Not a lot of variety, even with some hot items being served. There were two pools and a hot tub, never had a chance to use them. The beds were good, the pillows not so much. The best thing about the room was by far the showers, good water pressure and according to my wife a place to put everything. If I were asked for recommendations, I would would suggest the remodel of building 1 as soon as possible. I would also suggest adding to the breakfast options- presently have- basic toast, cereal, oatmeal, two fruits, pancakes and rotating biscuits and white gravy and eggs and sausage next day.

Would I stay again? probably not. There are so many options available and nothing here made it stand out from the rest.
