“Enjoyable Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

This was our first trip to Branson and we had no idea there are so many choices for lodging. This place is beautiful. The grounds are manicured and the villas are nicely appointed. We shared a two bedroom two bath with another couple. Lots of privacy. The housekeeping staff gets an A+. Barbara was so nice, efficient and did an excellent job. The WIFI went down on Friday afternoon and when we checked out on Monday, it had still not been restored. This was a disappointment. They said it was AT&T breakdown. Major inconvenience, but not the end of the world. The outdoor pool was not open yet, but it is lovely. They allowed us to lounge out there though and it was so nice. The pool was being readied and probably will be open in the next few days. If you travel with family, the resort has many activities available. Our party used the exercise room, the hot tub, pool table and table tennis. I heard the Monday night event the resort sponsors (dinner and entertainment for $10) is fabulous. Unfortunately, we left Monday morning and were not able to take advantage of it. The ONLY criticism I have is that the front desk staff was blah...they seemed totally disinterested in us and in our stay. I had called previously and asked for a top floor room as previous reviews suggested this. They did not honor this request and would not budge on moving us. The resort was very empty as this is the off season so not sure why they did not honor our request. Luckily we did not have noise issues but that was probably due to fact that many rooms were empty. When we checked out, the two front desk clerks were so matter of fact and not customer oriented at all. They didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our stay or encourage us to return. Management definitely needs to work with their front desk staff on customer service and interaction. They left us feeling unappreciated. Are they not aware of how many choices visitors to Branson have????

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise. Hallways are open and concrete so outside traffic is heard indoors...

I'm a Marriott Vacation Club owner, and stayed at Willow Ridge as a hotel stay, not a timeshare exchange. The property was nice enough, but it lacked some amenities and higher end touches you would expect in a Marriott Category 6 property. I believe all of the former Horizons properties, as this is, are a 'less fancy' version of the Marriott Vacation Club offerings.

There is no on-site restaurant at all. There is a little Market Express area where you can grab some microwaveable items, snacks and toiletries, but that's about it. They do have a free popcorn available in the lobby every afternoon and free coffee in the mornings. They also offer dvd's for rent for $1.99, which we took advantage of.

We had a Queen Studio bedroom, though the bed seemed more full-sized than queen-sized. The studios seem to be lockouts of the neighboring unit. The kitchenette is right at the foot of the bed, having a small fridge, microwave, sink and dishes. The same unit that houses the kitchenette, also holds the flat panel TV and dvd player. There wasn't a great selection of TV channels and the satellite service did not appear to be HD. (I understand the channel availability varies by building, so I can can only speak for buidling 5's limitations.) There was an online channel guide which was incorrect, indicating we had the Golf Channel, though we did not (we called and confirmed this.) The studios do not have balconies. On the plus side, there is a small two-person dining table and a sofabed in the room, though even with the additional sleeping space, I cannot imagine this room being comfortable with more than two people staying.

There is indoor pool and hot tub that seemed nice though I didn't use either. The outdoor pool looked awesome, but was closed for the season. An outdoor hot tub was open though, and it was very nice. They also have an evening firepit, with a real log fire, not a propane flame, and it was nice to hang out there in the evening. And there are grills available outside of the units, which seemed very clean and in good condition, though we did not use them.

All in all, it was a decent enough stay, but nothing special. If I went back to Branson, I would probably check out the Residence Inn down the street.

We had a guest studio , we stayed just two nights . The room was perfect , loved it , for me and my husband more than enough room , the bed was so comfy , the grounds beautiful , Everything was very clean and well maintained . We could hear the people on the floor above us , and people in the hall areas , walls may be a little thin .They have activities here every day , pretty much all day . Kids would have a great time here , especially when the outdoor pools are open . We used the indoor pool and hot tub , had it all to our selves . Places to grill outside , outdoor fire pits , s'mores . I liked the location , close to everything , but not on the Main Street with all the traffic .

Just returned yesterday from a week at this resort. We had a two bedroom suite through my sister and her husband and the four of us had a great time. As many others have said the staff here was outstanding. They would do all in their power to honor any request you might have. The Sunday night dinner and the Wednesday night cocktail parties were both great. This is the off season so the outdoor pools were closed but we had the indoor pool pretty much to ourselves each day. There were really no kids here this time of year but with the activities that are available, I would think that familes would really enjoy this place. I would recommend this place to stay for anyone that is planning a trip to Branson.

We came here with a teenager and grandparents. It was perfect! The two bedroom villa had a great common space plus spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The hotel offers many activities daily that are fantastic for a variety of ages.

We traded our marriott timeshare for 2 weeks at this property and have just returned. The resort was spotless clean, well maintained throughout and with some nice landscaping. Sitting on the porch of the main activities building admiring the view was a great way to chill out.

The resort itself is not overly large, but a nice size with an activity programme that is by far the biggest we've experienced. They offer something for everyone at this resort.

As we were here for 2 weeks we were able to take advantage of some of their activities - many of which are complimentary which is a bonus when the weather isn't so great. we played black jack, watched movies on the big screen projector, attended their wine and cheese social and entered the secret ingredient cooking competition ($5 charge - but well worth it for the fun factor). As it was Easter they also had an Easter egg hunt which was fun for the kids. Plus theres a daily ice cream social and on a few evenings a week smores by the fire. You can also rent dvd's from a great selection of old and new titles. the activity programme staff were friendly and attentive. It is a top notch activities programme.

The resort has indoor and outdoor pools although the outdoor one was closed during our stay. The indoor one had Plenty of chairs and sun loungers, and is kept nice and clean. There is also a small baby pool and a great hot tub.

Activity centre offers table tennis, pool, table football, plus a variety of board and other table top ( chequers, connect 4) games. A quick game of pool became a bit of a ritual while we there. There are also a couple of arcade games for an extra charge and an outdoor shuffleboard and basketball court. My two Tweens loved this spot.

Fresh Popcorn is served in the reception area every day 2pm - 8pm which a lovely touch. Especially for my pop corn mad kids. There is a very small market place, but it doesn't offer a great deal of choice. There are however a couple of super markets close by if you want to stock up. We preferred the country mart for its nice deli section, but there's a wall mart too.

The resort is very conveniently located for most centrally based attractions. Although as its just off 76 and within a nice landscaped resort you wouldn't have known it. We took in a couple of shows - Dixie stampede, the haygoods and acrobats of china; ventured across to dogwood canyon to take a walk, some bike riding and a spot of fishing; took advantage of the 2 days for 1 price ticket for silver dollar city, all of which were fun. ( I've posted separate reviews if you're interested in any of those).

There is no shortage of restaurants in and around Branson but not all are good so do your research if you don't want to be disappointed. One of the Highlights of our trip was the Sunday brunch at keeter college - just awesome service, food choices and admirable college ethos (call ahead for a a reservation); others included cherry berry right across the street - self serve frozen yoghurt with an amazing variety of toppings and flavours; and breakfast buffet at the chateau. We also drove upto lamberts just for the fun factor of having the bread rolls thrown at you. (Again I've reviewed these separately if you're interested).

We also signed up for the weekly(Mondays) Marriott celebration. A dinner and selection of local artists from some of the branson shows is provided at a local resort for a nominal charge. The artists were good (and lots of them, about 10 i think) and the food ok for the price and style of service (served to you from self serve hot plates). Iced tea, coffee and soda is included plus there's a pay bar if you wanted that. Lasts about 2 hours and I'd say worth the time and money.

Units are usual marriott great standard - albeit slightly smaller bedrooms than others but still plenty of room. Full sized kitchen, dining and lounge areas plus washer and dryer (a must when travelling with kids) and each of the bedrooms had their own tv. Our unit (2 bed 2 bath) was in building 5 on the top floor overlooking the pool area. For me a great spot, not too far away from the main activity centre with a nice view and no one above us ( so no risk of others footsteps being heard from above). Our 2nd bedroom had 2 queen beds, but understand this varies unit to unit with others having only a king, so be sure to check if that's important to you.

Overall this was a great resort and fun place to stay - lots to do and see. The resort staff were also fabulous: polite, helpful and engaging - couldn't have asked for. Absolutely recommended.

My kids never believe people actually read my reviews; so if you liked it, please give me a helpful vote and put a smile on our faces. You'll certainly have a smile on your face after staying here, I know we did.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room: no chance of footsteps from above. 2 bedroom units have a varied 2nd bed...
