“Who seriously watches Mary Poppins on Christmas Eve”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

We attended the Hollywood Christmas Spectacular with my extended family of 23 this past Thanksgiving. We expected a lot more from this show. At the beginning of the show the talk about taking you through famous Hollywood Christmas movies. They then sang songs from not popular movies and left out some major ones like frosty the snowman, or Rudolph. They added in random songs like Viva Las Vegas, not a Christmas song at all and said everyone watches Mary Poppins on Christmas eve and sang a bunch of songs fom that movie...Seriously! I almost thought they were going to miss White Christmas all together since its left for the encore song. The dancers are lip syncing tothe songs and during a tap number that was a recording as well.... I mean i didnt pay to see someone fake the entire show. This show is good at parts but a serious let down overall...

“Got our moneys worth and then some”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2011

Paid $35 pp for the Shake, Rattle & Roll live 1950s music revue. Lots of energy, great singers and fun to sign along.

The parking lot is on a steep hill ....glaf we parkef early, left with friends to eat then had short walk into entrance.

Use back roads versus 76. Traffic is the pits on the main road. Get a map before you go.

“AWESOME x 3!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2011

Went to Branson Oct 16-20 and saw three of the best shows at Branson Variety Theater! The first one was Hooray for Hollywood, which is brand new for this year. It was a very very good show, from the singers to the dancers and songs! Then one morning we went to Shake Rattle and Roll, another very good show, with some of the same dancers and singers as the previous show. Lots of great songs to get you on your feet! My 13 year old niece said it was her favorite!! And the third show, The Twelve Irish Tenors was another awesome show. So worth it and it impressed the same 13 yr old. Very energetic. If we could have stayed one more day we would have gone to all three shows a second time. Hopefully they will be there in Oct. 2012 because we plan to see those shows for our trip then!!

“Absolutely the "Most for your Money" in Branson!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

My wife and I just returned from our first vacation to Branson, Missouri. We took my mother-in-law for her first plane trip ever and first real vacation in years. We found Branson to be a very friendly town. They welcome you with "open-arms". (I was leery about visiting Branson. I don't like Country Music, but we found plenty to do that didn't include Country Music...so I had a great time).
The highlight of our visit was the Branson Variety Theater. The first show we saw there was "Hooray for Hollywood". This was an excellent 'song and dance" review. We returned to the theater to see "The 12 Irish Tenors" that featured many of the same cast from "Hooray for Hollywood". The outstanding part of the "12 Irish Tenors" show was the closing medley of songs from the rock group "Queen". Hearing 12 quality voices blending together on these songs was absolutely amazing!
The final show we attended at the Branson Variety Theater was "Shake, Rattle & Roll". We're not huge fans of 50's music, but we went because we enjoyed our two previous shows at the theater. This show was also composed of members from the first two productions. "Shake, Rattle & Roll" was excellent as well. It was a great mixture of song, dance and comedy that was a fitting end to our vacation.
Each of the shows at the Branson Variety Theater are priced to get your return business. The first show you attend is around $30. If you show your ticket stub...your next show is $20. Since we attended 2 previous shows...our tickets to "Shake, Rattle and Roll" were only $15! We saw over 6 hours of quality entertainment at the Branson Variety Theater for between $65 and $70 dollars. Where else can you find a deal like that?
