“The perfect experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

We visited the Berger Guesthouse last week as a birthday gift. We have had such an amazing time at the guesthouse. It is a true pleasure to wake up in the morning and look over the peaceful lake in the backyard. The environment around the guesthouse is beautiful and romantic. We have had such an amazing time that we want to return (soon) and there is no doubt about the place we are going to stay: The Berger Guesthouse. The owners are amazing people and their hospitality is like no other. What a perfect experience!

My husband and I were looking for a quite getaway for the weekend and came across Berger Guesthouse...What a GREAT find! We were cheerfully greeted by one of the owners upon arrival and immediately felt at home. Our room was VERY clean, spacious and comfortable. It had everything we could have wanted on our romantic weekend. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. The Sunrises and Sunsets are breathtaking. We loved the farm setting and being able to visit the animals around the farm.

We were wonderfully impressed with little gem! We will be back again and again!

Bob and I stayed at the Berger guesthouse during Oct- fest and had a great time. the room was very cozy and nicely decorated. it is very peaceful there. you can enjoy your morning coffee out on the dock ( with the ducks ) overlooking the lake.. Phil and Margie are wonderful hosts and would do anything they can for you , so your stay is a good one. if you like quiet then I would highly recommend staying here. we are eager to go back.

what an unforgettable getaway this was. we have such warm memories of margie and phil's lovely farm. everything was perfect - from farm fresh eggs for breakfast, breathtaking landscape, friendly and accommodating hosts, inviting and gorgeous guest house, majestic horses, chickens, and ducks. if you're looking for a quiet, beautifully simple farm retreat in the midwest, this is it. we will definitely be back! thanks so much, margie and phil, for this little piece of heaven!

My husband I were on a trip to Hermann for our 2 year anniversary and were just playing our trip by ear because we were on our Harley. We couldn't have been happier with the ground and the accommodations when we checked into the Berger Guesthouse. The guesthouse was just beautiful and Margie and Phil went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We were wanting a place where we could have a fire pit and when we got there they had the wood all stacked and ready to go. The room was just unbelievable - so warm and inviting and stocked with everything you could think of. They had farm fresh eggs available, coffee and fresh cantaloupe and tomatoes from their own garden. Margie even had a slice of chocolate cake in the fridge for us. The grounds were just beautiful with the rolling hills and horses, pond and they even had a pool for our use. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. This would be a wonderful place for a couple's retreat as the guesthouses are built perfect for two couples with your own privacy, grills for cooking out were available too. We will definitely go back with some friends when we have time to enjoy the grounds and the hiking trails.

My wife and I stayed at the guesthouse for four nights in August 2013. It was an amazing experience! Margie and Phil were so nice to us during our stay, and took the time to show us around their land and introduce us to all their animals. Phil was even nice enough to teach us about his bee hives and show us the honey extraction process which we were very interested in.

The cabin is cozy, including a small kitchen and rainfall-style shower head. The bed was very comfortable.

If you're looking for a place you can forget about everything and just relax for a while, Berger Guesthouse is just the place. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I stayed there in 2012 for Octoberfest in Hermann. We chose this location based on its close proximity to Bias Winery & Microbrewery (Just a mile or two away). We always like to end our winery tour at Bias because they have wine AND beer (which my husband prefers). I can't think of anything they need to improve. Everything was wonderful last year and I've already booked my reservation for 2013's Octoberfest. We loved everything about this place--nicely remodeled, safe, scenic, beautiful grounds & pond--even a historic cemetery behind the pond!

Room Tip: Both suites are equally nice. If you can reserve the whole house with another friend/couple, it wor...
