“Awesome park with paved walking trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

Trail is completely shaded and an easy walk. Plenty of markers to explain the viewings. Able to go off trail and climb the elephant rocks, if you want.

“Great State Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

These giant rocks create a wonderful setting for picnics, hiking, photography and just sitting at the lake enjoying the surroundings. It's been decades since I was here, but the turtle population is still much larger than northern Missouri. WATCH out for them on the road and in the parking lots.
Box turtles are becoming endangered.

“Nice Suprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

I went here many years ago and apparently I must have left without seeing what this park offers. This past weekend my 12 year old daughter and I made many more discoveries - like the water view (beautiful), and there are trails so that you can walk around the entire thing. There is also a nice wooded area to explore. We loved it there and will go back.

“We Loved It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The hiking trails were so well kept and accessible for all. The rocks were simply amazing and the kids (and adults) loved climbing them. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting-our traveling companions went a second day they like it so much and said the bathrooms were fine the next day. The picnic area by the rocks was really nice and the playground was as well. I highly recommend this fun spot!

“Great hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

this is a great side trip to visit and hike. Great picture taking and impressive red granite rock formations. Easy to moderate hiking, and paved walking trails.
