“Goodbye”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

This is a great little pub, with excellent pub food sp why do the brewery want to sell it. I understand that as from next Thursday it will be closed and is to be offered for auction. What a shame so many of our small village pubs are no longer able to continue. The food here is excellent, it is a proper pub and should remain so. Why sell it and risk losing a very popular pub.

“Friendly Welcome for Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

After being unimpressed with the Pubs closer to Edale Youth Hostel, we decided to try a little further afield. Castleton too touristy for our tastes but found this Pub delightful. Friendly and hospitable. Not heaving and noisy. Generous portions of delicious food. Try the Steak and Kidney pudding.

“Excellent Christmas lunch.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

My husband, 8 year old grandson and I enjoyed an excellent Christmas meal at The Wanted Inn, Sparrowpit, yesterday. It is a cosy, clean, traditional country inn and restaurant. Suitable for everyone from families, lone visitors, couples, locals, hikers and travellers. Excellent home cooked food. Snacks to full meals. Very reasonably priced and lunchtime OAP specials. Home made produce also available to buy. Fantastic pork and stilton pies. Very friendly and helpful landlord, landlady and bar and waiting on staff. Would highly recommend it both as a short stop or overnight stay.
