“Great value, but really???”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

I stay at the Hollywood frequently. However everytime I stay there is an issue. Rooms are never very clean, staff is never very friendly. I have been put into an occupied room and into a room with broken air conditioning. Each time I have had to take all my stuff back to the front desk so they can correct their own error. They never offer an upgrade for the inconvienence. And the memory foam matteress they claim to have? Well, some rooms have them. Yeah, I get great discounts but its beginning to not be worth the trouble. Time to stay at the other casinos.

Love staying and playing at the Hollywood Casino! Nice big open casino floor so even us non-smokers don't feel "choked up". The only way you can get upstairs to your room is by having a room key to operate the elevator, feels very safe.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the tower rooms over looking the floor...TOO MUCH NOISE!

I go to the hollywood at least ist a month the people are very nice but it has been a long time since I have really won anything! The hottub is closed and has been a year or more, but the pool is open. I like the pool hours because of the hours they have for children, I think all the casinos should have the same rules for adults only because we are the ones paying for the getaway!!

Was here for one night with a friend and brought our kids for the indoor pool and buffet dinner. Room was okay, double beds were smaller than expected. Dinner was disappointing as I am not a crab leg lover, wasn't much choices. But the prime rib was very good. Had issue with our toilet overflowing and took hours to get someone to come get up all the water. And there were hourly restrictions on when the kids could be at the pool. So they did not get a chance to swim do they were very disappointed. Wouldn't stay at Hollywood again! D+

I was sent a comp room at the Hollywood via mail... I had gambled there a bit a month or so ago. The staff was very polite and attentive. I was able to check in a bit early which was nice. After talking to the lovely lady at the front desk, I was sold on taking a room in tower 1. This group of rooms are right inside the casino and look out over the gaming pits and machines. It was a fun view. This section seems to be the older rooms, but they have been recently revamped. The rooms are well appointed (flat screen t.v., frige, iron, nice bedding and tasteful fresh decor). The only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, would be that with the interior view it does get rather dark... perhaps too dark. But it's a taste thing. I would gladly return. Thanks Hollywood, i will be back.

Room Tip: You should join the Players club so you can get comps in the future.

I am a newbie gambler and they had a $1 blackjack table. I went on a Sunday morning, I am not sure if they have it all the time. I lost, but learned a lot. I did not find any other casino where they had less than a $5 minimum bet. The casino employees were so nice and helpful. I did not stay here so I cannot review the hotel.

Viisted Hollywood Casino and stayed at the hotel March 12th to the 15th. Room was very nice and quiet, clean and good size. Rooms for these days were a very good price. We asked for room overlooking casino and could not hear noise from the casino but when the heating air turned on it was a bit noisy for me as a light sleeper- ear plugs are my standard.. Service is good but it is obivious that staff is overwokred ,e.g.,-doing more than one job at reservations, buffet check-in also being seating hostess. Everybody pleasant but not enthusiastic- just glad to have jobs.

Looked at the indoor swiming pool and it is very nice and large for casino pools..

The casino slots seemed to not be returning a normal amount which was most people's opinion. Also don 't plan on getting "comp" (even for a free buffet) unless you put a lot of your money out. This is probaly a good idea anytime but now comp is really stingy so just buy your meals which are a resonable cost. The comp cut back and the employee reduction are probably the result of casinos not making enough money(reduced attendance) and need to cut back or go broke.

Buffet is good and Crab Legs and Prime Rib night is very good.

Won a little money playing Craps so this probably helped my opinion of having a good time.

Room Tip: Not a tip for a room but a tip for casino--play table games since slots not paying off good.
