Freezing rain outside. Only 4 other people in the restaurant about 7 pm. One waiter who covered the bar area and the restaurant. But, given no crowd, should have been pretty easy. Unfortunately, his attitude led me to believe he didn't want to be there.
In a nutshell: Had to ask for water to be refilled and for another wine. Not something I'd expect at an upscale place. Oh yes, the restaurant was very nice.
I like meat cooked, at the risk of being over cooked, and told the waiter that I did not want the steak "bloody". Even discussed difference between med and med well. Ordered appetizer of scallops (3) and clarified that they would be grilled and cooked through and warm. Sure, says the waiter.
You know where this is going. Promises, promises. Steak bloody. Scallops nearly cold in middle. Waiter said he'd take the steak back. I figured I'm already annoyed. I'll just pick around on the done stuff. Actually what I had was good. Funny the cook even came out to check later. Now, mind you, I was not making a scene.
The potato side was chunks of potato, like potato salad, stuffed back into the 1/2 potato shell with some sauce, maybe cheese, on top. I did like the spinach side, the bread and the choc covered strawberry (complementary).
All that for more than $200.
Not going back!
