“it was ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

I went here with my partner and our 3 year old daughter and another family with an 8 year old. price was ok. There is some good science things here, I found some of it very boring like a clogged drain was on display, my daughter was too young so would not recommend this for her age, even though upstairs there is a mini city for younger kids. We had it all seen within 45 mins and went to the restaurant to get food. we then went into some coal place across from science works.. Would recommend for 8+.. the 8 years old that was with the other family we were with loved it and spent ages there but she is really big into science. I wouldn't go back. Great for a school tour but not a family day out

“Amazing place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

So much to see and ponder. It was a great place to visit on a cool Sunday morning. Lots of interactive things for the kids to do. Lots of information to absorb and lots of things from years gone by to check out.

“Wonderful experience for little children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Lots of interactive things for little kids to explore, not really an adult experience unless you participate in activities. Great cafe available for meals.

“Hands on fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

This is a good science trip for kids and adults and takes 3-4 hours to do well. Our kids are 10 and 14 so we spent most time in the older displays and id not visit the little-kids section. We had been told to attend the "Lightening" show and it was fabulous. As far as science centres go (and we have seen a lot), I would put this about middle of the road. it is a great way to spend a few hours but there was nothing particularly exciting or different from other science centres we've seen. That said, the kids did really enjoy the lightning show and some of the talks in the big outdoor amphitheatre. The display of the old sewage/water treatment facility was also pretty interesting.

“Brilliant fun for big and little kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Scienceworks is great for an afternoon/while day outing. There are loads of interactive things to play with, it is very child friendly and there is a lovely outdoor space.

Fabulous value and even better if you join Museums Vic for an annual pass.
