“Cosy, warm, friendly and good coffee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

'The Pantry on Egmont' is a warm, cosy spot for a coffee on a cold winter's day. The service is quick and friendly, and the coffee is good. On walking inside I was pleased to be able to take my coat and scarf off immediately, such was the room's warmth (which was comfortable, not stifling). My friend and I did not sample the treats on our visit but they looked delicious and there were 3 quite different options to choose from.

The cafe is decorated with interesting art, and I was particularly taken by a work depicting a kitchen with a man standing outside. The depth achieved by the artist, and the way that the mirror in the painting seemed to shimmer, gave me a sense that I was actually part of the picture's world.

I look forward to returning again soon and maybe seeing a Tripadvisor reader there - you'll enjoy it.

“A degustation to remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

Where does one start, we had the four course degustation menu, the most wonderful duck terrine to die for, the ocean trout on horse raddish cream with beetroot amazing, the pork belly on braised red cabbage with crackling yum! followed by an incredible salted caramel meringue with raspberry ice cream and coulis. The service was brilliant so attentive, both waiters had a great sense of humour, a very small wine list that complimented the food to a tee. All in all a wonderful intimate dining experience.

We are just glad they took our booking

“Retro and Chic and better get there early”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

Attended here today for breakfast and this is certainly a funky and happy place to eat. There are lovely paintings surrounding the walls and many old books and wares to keep you occupied while you browse the enjoyable menu for both breakfast and lunch. I found the prices reasonable and the servings very good. The staff are friendly and helpful and the chef gets the food out at a good speed without losing quality. I liked it and this will be one we will return to.
Just get there early or be prepared to wait for a seat.

“Gorgeous !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

Met a friend here for coffee and cake...what a find! Great staff, yummiest of cakes and delightful atmosphere. I saw a promo too for a degustation evening which sounded superb....it's only small but it's a definite must do if you are in Adelaide.

“Fantastic food, provided you can find a seat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

We visited here with a friend and just managed to grab the last 3 seats available in the place (by the window). This is a busy little cafe that doesn't take bookings so, on a number of occasions, we've seen how busy it is and kept on driving. Thankfully on this day we were able to find a seat and enjoy some of the delicious food here. I had falafels, which were fantastic, and my friend (from Sydney) had a veggie tart that she swears she will return to Adelaide just to eat again. The food came out fairly quickly and was reasonably priced.
