“really good pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

If you want an excellent selection of pizzas and beers in a sports bar type environment, Soulshine is the place for you. My wife and I went on a Sunday night after baseball game and thought it decidedly the best Sunday p.m. option (especially when Sun. p.m. last call is 8:45). Our waiter Mayson was efficient and helpful and good-spirited and funny, made certain we got a second beer before last call. We had a romaine/Caesar salad that was nothing special, but good, while our Mediterranean pizza with mushrooms added was top notch. We had Fat Tire on draft, equally good. Nice space, a bit loud like most wide open restaurants, but then again Ole Miss had just won a baseball thriller over Univ. of Washington to advance to regional finals. They have other non-pizza options, but everyone we saw was eating pizza.

“Funky decor, fab food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

Cool place. guitars and cool musician theme paintings decorate the place. Very loud. Crawfish soup was amazing! Loved it. Muffeletta sandwich was good but not great. Specialty pizza was very good. Kids cheese pizza was just average. Good service and experience overall.

“Great salads and pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

If you hate salads that don't have a plethora of toppings, get the chef. I ran out of lettuce, it was great.

“Not New York Pizza”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Okay, I realize we're in Mississippi and not New York. I also know not to expect great pizza in the mid-south. Strange thing is Soulshine's pizza toppings and cheese selections are just fine...more variety than anyplace I've eaten pizza. At the same time, the crust fails the course. It's the mass manufactured types (regardless of their choice of wheat or white), the type Pizza Hut is famous for, not hand-rolled. Chewy, tough, not worth eating. Result, an F for the pizza.

Place itself was fine, good service and atmosphere (right in the square), even had a Nathans hot dog for five dollars with relish but no saurerkraut ( I know, it's the midsouth). Had Guiness on tap which is a plus. Chicken wings were baked and then covered with regular hot sauce and other options. Most wings are dripping of sauces except for Cafe International in Atlanta which are super and very different.

I was disappointed because the pizza toppings were interesting, even a selection of different chesses, and it was thin crust...but what a poor crust. And the locals love it! Must be difficult to assess when you've never tasted the real thing.
