I ate at "The Shed" as part of a Group Dinner. In summary, the food was excellent!!
The location of "The Shed" in Ocean Springs is interesting....it shares a driveway and parking lot with a campground. It's easy to pass up from the road, although I don't think the business model is for "drive by" dining. The decor itself is intedned to be "red neckish"; personally, I thought it was a bit "forced" and un natural, although there were a lot of amusing things to look at.
But, what I liked about the Shed wasn't the decor, but the food and beer selection! We had semi-catered dinner with cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, chicken, pulled pork, and beef brisket....with as much sauce as you want, of course! All around, the food was excellent. The potato salad was simply some of the best I ever had, and all three meats were very tender. The sauce was good as well; not spicy, but tangy enough to keep everything interesting. An excellent meal all around; topped off by individual "cake bites" (chocolate covered pieces of chocolate layer cake), and what I can best describe as "pastry shooters"; cream pastries on wafer cookies in "shooter" cups.
To go with the food, the Shed had a fantastic selection of bottled beer. Unfortunately, there was no beer on tap, but they claimed to have around 120 different types of bottled beer. There were several "local" (from Mississippi and Louisiana) beers available, so the variety was excellent.
While we ate, there was a two-person country band playing on the pavilion stage; although I'm not a country music fan, the band (especially the singer) was very good, and provided some decent background for the meal.
Overall, I was indifferent for the atmosphere and decor, but the food was excellent! I would not hesitate to return. Out of curiosity, when back at the hotel, I checked in with one of the hotel bartenders, and asked her how she liked it for a "local" perspective. She said she loved the place, it was very popular locally, and was some of the best BBQ to be had in the area (according to her). It should be noted that there was a sizeable local patron attendance there in addition to our group.
