“Great room, disappointed in service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

Original Review 4/15: My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Ocean Springs a few weeks ago. We had a very nice vacation to the Gulf, but unfortunately had a few frustrations with the Inn. The highlights of the Inn are that the room was very clean and comfortable and a great walk to the beach. The town was pleasant and walkable, but not quite as much of a vacation town as we expected. With the location on the main street there is quite a bit of traffic noise at night. It didn’t bother me, but did bother my husband, who is a lighter sleeper. After reading all the great reviews here on Trip Advisor we were surprised that Ted and Roxy were not especially friendly. For breakfast we received vouchers each morning. Great idea, but the restaurants were really coffee shops, not restaurants, and the first was out of all breakfast food except plain bagels. That coffee shop was closed the next morning and our voucher brought us to another coffee shop that was out of business. Towards the end of our stay we were thinking about leaving a day early and spending that time in New Orleans. Ted said New Orleans was well worth our time and he would not charge us for the last night or a cancelation fee. However, we have yet to receive a refund or a corrected receipt. I have left a few messages and sent an email to correct this and receive our refund, or at minimum refund minus the cancellation fee, but have not heard back from the Inn. That has been frustrating.

UPDATE 4/22: We have received a full refund for our last night stay. To clarify, the Inn at Ocean Springs did not over charge us at the beginning; they charged us for the number of nights we had reservations. It was generous of them to offer not to charge (to refund) for the last night of our reservation, but my frustration came when we did not receive a response for 3 weeks. They have now responded and refunded.

Fantastic doesn't seem to meet the reality of the image. This B&B is in the heart of the town. everything you need has been anticipated. A large immaculate room with a spacious bathroom. A serene setting under a flowering arbor with a gurgling fountain and a nice fire pit for both warmth and atmosphere was the perfect end to a day of bicycling arond the great attractions of Ocean Springs. The bikes were provided by the Inn so we did not have to bring ours. The beach is a short ride south and the Walter Anderson Museum of Art is a block north. Reserve at least two hours for the Museum. You will probably stay for three! We are going back to the Inn soon. Maybe we will see you there!

Room Tip: Only two rooms, both great. Make reservations early!

We chose the Inn due to it's location, right on the main street Ocean Springs, a picture perfect town on the Gulf just east of Biloxi. It was the right choice for so many more reasons than location. We were warmly greeted by Tom, who along with his wife Roxy own the Inn, and shown to our room. It was one of the 2 rooms at the Inn, situated behind the real estate office that Tom and Roxy run. The room was beautifully decorated by Roxy in a perfect mix of retro and modern with stylish touches, and very comfortable. Roxy thought of every little thing to make a guest feel at home - luxurious linens and towels, high quality toiletries, blow dryer, iron, refrigerator with bottled water, a great bed and even a dish of Christmas candy treats. We stayed 4 days and made use of the lovely porch, and the back yard swing and Adirondacks chairs. The Inn is very close to many restaurants and shops so great for walking to dinner or a stroll to the shops. Breakfast for me was a Nested Egg and coffee at the charming cafe, Lulu's for which we received a voucher every morning. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a place a cut above the norm.

Room Tip: The Inn has 2 rooms, the front room is a queen and the rear a King.

My husband and I, along with our 9 year old daughter spent the weekend here in July. It was breathtaking! Also the convenience of the location was amazing! It definetly has something for any age. Just a short walk to the beach was an added bonus. There was a bit of noise from the neighbors cutting grass on the weekend (go figure) but the pros def outweighed the cons (which were few). We will definetly be going back. I would recommend this as a short get away for anyone just wanting a quiet, relaxing and charming short vacay!

Room Tip: Both rooms are beautiful.

We came to the area to visit familyand wanted to stay on our own and found this little place.. Rooms are very nice and pretty.. Very home like.. The only down fall was the noice from outside.. Not from the people staying there cause there are only 2 rooms but the street and the people in the morning... I was really hoping to sleep in on my vacation but it didn't happen here...

As I sit here under your beautiful arbor, no words can describe what I am feeling. This is just what I needed! The beautiful Inn, the quaint downtown, the sound of the fountain & the cool breeze will be a lasting memory for us both. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I only wish we could stay longer. We will be back without a doubt. Thank you again for your fabulous inn!!!

Where do I even begin? My husband and I live in New Orleans and wanted a quick Saturday night getaway for our 1 year anniversary. We had heard many nice things about Ocean Springs but nothing prepared us for our lovely weekend. The rooms at the Inn are clean, comfortable, and stylish. We took advantage of the bikes on site and rode around town, down to the ocean, and took the bridge over to Biloxi. The staff at the Inn has always been so courteous over the phone and when I had a question someone answered immediately. One of our favorite parts is the breakfast voucher to Lulu's restaurant. My husband and I love getting out of the room and exploring so this was a great stop for us. We have been there twice and the owners are the nicest people in the world! We cannot wait to get back to Ocean Springs and stay at the Inn. We HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.
