“Just a place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

I travel from Georgia to Texas with my kids once or twice a year. We have stayed in many hotels/motels along the way as I am more price conscience than loyal. We ended up staying here due to a winning bid on a travel site. Positives: hotel seemed to be in a safe area and was just across the street from a mall which gave us an evening diversion for last minute Christmas shopping. Plenty of food choices at the mall and around it and at the highway exit. The hotel room was clean. Beds okay. What we really liked about the room was the very well padded and large window seat. It gave my son a place to sleep as opposed to a pallet on the floor. Negative: the front desk clerk was less than friendly. The morning breakfast was very disappointing. They waited until the thing was completely deplenished before refreshing and we were down only about 20 minutes after it opened. I never saw the eggs and meat that were advertised but it did have gravy and biscuits (never got the gravey replenished while we were there), waffle maker, muffins & bagels and your typical cold items. I usually take the value of the breakfast into consideration when contemplating room prices but cannot in this case. I probably will not choose this property again.

We stayed here in the middle of a road trip with our three sons and while we had enough room to sleep in and our stuff to fit in the room that is really all we got. The mattresses are not that great and when we went to the Continental Breakfast there was barely any bread, the milk wasn't cool, and there were only four biscuits left with a little gravy (at 8:00 am when breakfast ended at 9:30 am). The waffle maker didn't have enough mix for two waffles. However once we asked more was provided. When we stay at a hotel while we are on the road with three young children the beds and breakfast as well as cleanliness of the hotel are what is most important to us. Cleanliness was fine....old carpet but outside of that no issues and the mattresses were not the best but not the worst either and overall we were not impressed with the breakfast. If we were to stop in Meridian we would probably not return to this hotel.

Last time we stayed at this hotel we gave a glowing report. This time the staff was not as accommodating. When we contacted the front desk about a plugged toilet we were advised we could pick up a plunger in the lobby.

This was an ok hotel, There was mold on the shower curtain, hair ball behind the door, and it just seemed like it was half way cleaned. The smell of the hotel is just old musty smell. On the upside the bed was very comfortable. the people are not the friendly people around.

We were on our way from Texas to Chattanooga, TN for a wedding and made a reservation for the Microtel Inn in Meridian, MS. Unfortunately, I had made the reservation for the following week and we had no reservation. Furthermore, I had made the reservation through a 3rd party which complicated the situation even more.

The person at the desk, Lakeitra, very calmly cancelled the later reservation through Priceline rented us us a very nice room on the first floor. She personally showed us to our room which was near an exit and even held the automatically-locked door open for us to bring in our luggage, then checked later to see that everything was okay. Wonderful service. We will definitely stay there again. The room was clean and quiet & the bed was very comfortable.

Room Tip: Probably not best to choose the very small rooms. The suite had a bedroom, sofa, etc. Very nice.

This is a hotel was initially booked for the price. It is now the place of choice. I have stayed in this hotel frequently over the past several months. The consistency of the quality and hospitality is a value in itself. There have been three different people for my check in / check out processes with each one having been very hospitable and accommodating. My stays have always been comfortable, restful and peaceful. It is nice to have coffee and breakfast waiting in the morning. The location allows easy access to most anything that could wanted or needed. Definitely a recommendation!

This is a very pleasant place - no strong smell and very pratical! This is no Holiday Inn Express, but it's half the price so, I think you can't beat it! I'll be back for sure!

There is some wear and tear and a lil but of abuse on walls, but it feels clean an safe and it's priced right....so, there you go!
