“Amazing location for a wonderful little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

I stayed here over Mardi Gras weekend as a break on a long business trip. The location is fantastic, with white sand beach across the street for as far as the eye can see. Huge gnarled old trees covered in Spanish moss survived Katrina, and line Hwy 90 on your way in and out of the property. Its clear that many old homes were destroyed nearby and a drive along the coast is filled not only with sandy shore, but with vacant lots on the other side. The property itself is a nice 6 story building, with the pool and patio in the front yard. It made for a lovely place to sit poolside, watch the waves lap the shore, and see the various Krewe truck/trailers pass on thier way east to yet another parade in the season. Rooms are, not surprisingly, a little smaller than most HIE's I have visited, but given the location, its not a hindrance. My room 214 was smaller than most, and had a small hallway entrance off the main hall. This yielded a surprising quiet room, in what I thought might be a party hotel... no such poor luck. Breakfast was very nice, huge airy room facing the ocean could not have been nicer. IHG is offering a bonus of 7500 priority club points for staying 2 days in March, I suspect as an incentive to make up for the expected spring break noise, but it turned out to simply be a nice addition to a very nice 2 day stay on a lovely beach. I will definitely return to this hotel for more leisure stays.

Nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The rooms are bright, spacious, and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and all linens and towels were very good quality. The beach with soft, white sand was just across the road and all the rooms have a beautiful view of the beach and Gulf. We didn`t use the swimming pool, but it was also very clean with lounge chairs and tables in the pool area. An excellent breakfast was served in a bright spacious area and the morning newspaper was available. People at the front desk were very pleasant and able to give us information about the area. Not only were good restaurants suggested, the staff even printed out menus for us.

Very pleasant and helpful front desk staff, nice, clean facility. Safe neighborhood. Stayed with 4 children, ages 4, 6, 12 and 14 and my mother. We really enjoyed the access to the beach (but be warned it is a very busy highway to cross especially when traveling with little ones, my 4 year old pulled away and a car swerved to avoid him). My boys loved it on the beach and it was such a peaceful location. We would definitely stay again. Not sure if it is convenient to good restaurants or not, we really didn't venture too far. We walked down to the McDonald's. But I dont advise that due to the busy highway. You start out okay but as you get closer the sidewalk is right next to the busy highway and it made me extremely nervous. This is a really nice hotel with a friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again

My wife, teenage daughter, and I stayed at the HI Express Long Beach for two nights in December. The hotel was clean and new, the room was nice and the linens were fresh. The service could have been better. At checkout, we had to wait at the front desk for the only clerk on duty to finish her cigarette break outside. During this time, the lobby phone must have range three times with no one there to answer it.

Wonderful Hotel! Stayed 4 nights and the staff were very helpful, and so friendly. This hotel is right across the street from the beautiful white sand beach. It is tucked under nice shade trees, making the setting very nice. If you want a nice relaxing quiet hotel, I would recommend this one.

Planned to stay just one night and loved it so much we asked the person who checked us in if we could get the same rate that we prepaid with. Didn't get the right response so later that evening we asked another desk clerk and they happily set us up for the second night at the same rate.

Great part of the Mississippi Gulf Coast if you want to get away from the hustle of all the casinos.

Great breakfast and nice housekeeping staff!

The hotel was clean and had a nice view and a courteous staff. It is situated right across the street from the beach. The pool on the front lawn is a great highlight feature. On the down side, the free breakfast was the worst that I had while staying at 3 local hotels and was also served the latest, which made timing a bit tricky in the morning. You might stay here if you want to be away from it all on a nice stretch of beach. If proximity to restaurant choices and/or casinos is more important to you, you might want to look at the options in Gulfport and/or Biloxi.
