My husband and I were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. We stayed in a suite fully equipped with a wet bar, jacuzzi tub, stand up shower and regular tub, great coffee maker, table to eat at plenty of seating area and king size bed. We asked for the romance package which included a $20 comp toward breakfast in the morning which I have to say was OUTSTANDING and we are from the food capital(New Orleans) It was better than any breakfast I have ever eaten out whether it was a Brennans restaurant in new orleans or dennys. It also included a bottle of champagne which was surprisingly good and we love champagne. It also came with peach/mango shower gel, bubbles, bath fizzies, lotion etc. The hotel provides bathroom toiletries from crabtree and evelyn which are also nice including mouthwash. There was chocolate on our pillow which is a nice touch. Every request we made was accomodated in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and they had a great jazz band on saturday night in the lobby.

Loved the hotel, but my room smelled horrible

I just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. The location is great. It's close to a very nice mall, many restaurants and shops, and just a stone's throw from Interstate 55. I booked a smoking room because I have a friend who lives in Jackson and he smokes. I knew he would be visiting me and I wanted him to be comfortable. My room was on the 3rd floor. When I exited the elevator on that floor I almost gagged from the strong stench of old smoke permeating the hallways. When I entered my room it smelled worse than the hallways. I could not believe they didn't try to fumigate that horrendous odor. The room was very spacious, and so was the bathroom. They had very nice toiletries and thick, plush towels. The bed was comfortable. I pre-ordered extra towels and 2 beers and some snacks. These items were to already be in my room when I arrived. I had to wait for the beer after I had checked in and arrived in my room. The towels took even longer to arrive. But these were minor incidents. The lobby is nice. The bar is nice. They have a great restaurant there. The pool area is fabulous.

  • Liked — location of my room
  • Disliked — strong, stinky cigarette smell in the hall and in my room

Great Sunday Brunch

This is an above average hotel with clean rooms and the staff did a very good job straightening up the room on the four days that we stayed there for a wedding.

What made it excellent was the $20.00 Sunday Jazz Brunch. I have dined at the Jazz Brunch at the Commander's Palace in New Orleans and this was much better for half the price. If you are in Jackson, MS on a Sunday, do not miss this meal.

Hilton Honor members receive varying treatment at different locations, but the reception here was great. The property has a floor where Honor members are placed with a dedicated lounge (at least it did when I was there and forgot to write a review). The room was excellant and the staff was great. The lounge was especially useful for the business trip I was on.

I was there on business for the weekend, and dispite the other reviews, my stay wasn't that bad! Our group of 8 was able to check-in 2 hrs before time so we would'nt have to wait-which was very nice. The lobby was very comfortable and stylish (loved the look of the sitting area). Being the only male in my group, I was a bit sad that I could'nt get a King bed......weeeh,weeh,weeh!

Yes, the hotel is going through major renovation (new furniture and flat screen tv's clutter the hallway during the day) but that says there is a conscience effort to better the property. The pool was open while we were there, but our schedule didn't allow us to enjoy or hate it. There's a Wendy's, What-A-Burger, and gas station within walking distance, which is nice, and the mall is 5 minutes down the road....but too far to walk. *FYI* Beware of the extra taxi charges for "entering into another county" while enroute to your destination (we were dooped 6 extra dollars for that mall ride because it's technically located in the next county)

The breakfast buffet was fresh, really good, and offered an array of choices for anyone to enjoy.

Overall- the staff was nice, stay was good, hotel as clean as it could be under the circumstances!
