We eat at our local Chilis with some regularity, so felt "safe" trying this one while on the road.
Rule #1 at this particular store- for groups of 8 or more they have a written policy (and they even showed it to us!), all must be paid on one single ticket and 18% is added for mandatory tip. Our waitress was not particularly good (and the place was NOT busy at all.
Ther were 9 in our group (7 adults, 2 children). Food came out over a 30 minute period. Those who got their food first were finished eating by the time the last of us received our dishes.
One in our party ordered steak "medium rare" and was significantly overdone. Another got steak fajitas... The steak was literally black from being over done.
Memphis-style Dry Ribs were pretty much on-par with the Chilis chain. No surprise.
Wife ordered a chocolate shake. What was brought was... Well... Basically tasted like vanilla ice cream with about a half box of cheap chocolate-covered cherries dumped in the blender. The waitress said upon bringing it: "it should be good, it's got cherries in it". Who asked for cherries??? Not my wife who ordered it! When asked, the waitress just said "that's just how they do 'em"...
She didn't seem bothered at all when my wife said she definitely did NOT like it.
Kids meals are suppose to come with a drink... Yet we got charged for one of them (did't notice until got back to the hotel...).
