“Extremely well-done museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

This museum was just wonderful. You could hear recordings of a reenactment of the secession convention and others important in Mississippi history. You could go to the Supreme Court of the state and hear audio arguments of famous cases. It was particularly targeted to school children, especially in the Mississippi constitution and how changes in government are made, but it wasn't too juvenile for adults. We loved it!

“Impressive old building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Great free attraction. I went to the new capitol tour first and that guide told me some interesting things/stories to look for that made it more fun. I also like the WWII French Rail car by the parking log. The rotunda is gorgeous!

“an interesting history lesson”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

A great story of Mississippi and of the building thro the years... lovingly restored with plenty to read with some interactive bits for the kids. Worth the hour or so, free to get in.

“Pleasant, Quiet Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

It's free and fairly close to the current capitol, so it's definitely worth checking out. The front desk staff was very helping in telling me where to visit in the area. I also had a slightly unusual question about one of the items in their collection - the Sherman Necktie - which was featured on the Roadside America website. While it wasn't on display, they did their best to tell me all about it. Glad I stopped in.

“White wank”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013 via mobile

I found this museum extremely boring. Go see it after the Smith Robertson for some stark contrasts in Misstrawspi history.

The building itself is fairly bland and then to try and base a museum on its history is just grasping at straws. Even with the super fantastic woman at reception this place is not worth it.
